  • Jake Ferguson TE | DAL

Cowboys' Jake Ferguson: Not targeted in win

Ferguson failed to record a single target in Sunday's 20-17 win over the Bengals.

Ferguson was on the field for 56 percent of the Cowboys' offensive snaps, but he was a complete non-factor in the passing game. The rookie tight end could possibly take on an increased role in Week 3 if starter Dalton Schultz is forced to miss time with a PCL injury he suffered against Cincinnati. Though reports indicate that the injury is not considered to be a long-term issue, it's unclear whether or not Schultz will suit up when the Cowboys visit the Giants on Monday night. If he sits, Ferguson would be the next man up. However, the 23-year-old Wisconsin product would likely be hard to trust for fantasy purposes in his first career start against a division rival in primetime.

  • Austin Hooper TE | ATL

Titans' Austin Hooper: Makes little of four targets

Hooper recorded one reception on four targets for 19 yards in Monday's 41-7 loss to the Bills.

Hooper was on the field for exactly half of Tennessee's offensive snaps, though most of the team's starters were pulled late in the third quarter of the rout. He finished tied for third on the team with four targets, but he did little with his opportunities. Hooper should continue to serve as the Titans' primary pass-catching tight end, though that has translated to only two receptions and 25 yards across two games.

  • Geoff Swaim TE | CLE

Titans' Geoff Swaim: No stats against Bills

Swaim was not targeted in Monday's 41-7 loss to the Bills.

Swaim was on the field for 27 offensive snaps and 15 special-teams snaps. However, as has been typical, Swaim was used primarily as a blocker and failed to reach the stat sheet as a result.

  • Noah Togiai TE | PHI

Noah Togiai: Heads back to practice squad

Togiai reverted to the Eagles' practice squad Tuesday, per the NFL's official transaction log.

Togiai was unable to tally any stats in the team's win over the Vikings on Monday. It was the second straight week the 25-year-old had been elevated to the active roster, while rookie Grant Calcaterra was a healthy scratch. Togiai can be promoted to the active roster one more time before Eagles will be forced to sign him to the 53-man roster.

  • Jalen Wydermyer: Cut from practice squad

Wydermyer was cut by the Patriots on Tuesday.

Wydermyer joined New England in mid-August after being let go by the Bills, ultimately ending up on the practice squad. The undrafted rookie out of Texas A&M now will work to find an opportunity with another franchise. In a corresponding move, the Patriots signed fellow tight end Scotty Washington to their practice squad.

  • Scotty Washington: Joins New England's practice squad

The Patriots signed Washington to the practice squad Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.

Washington signed with the Bengals as an undrafted free agent following the 2020 NFL Draft and spent the last two seasons on the Bengals' practice squad. However, he didn't stick with Cincinnati this year after being waived ahead of the 53-man roster deadline. The 6-foot-5 tight end has yet to make his NFL debut.

  • Browns' Harrison Bryant: Limited in practice

Bryant (thumb/thigh) is listed as a limited participant in Tuesday's practice, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

According to Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram, Bryant was spotted riding a stationary bike off to the side during the open portion of Tuesday's session, but the tight end must have fit in some work behind the scenes in order to get bumped up from a non-participant on Monday's report. If Bryant can upgrade to full activity Wednesday, it could be enough for him to approach Thursday's game against the Steelers without an injury designation.

  • Jesse James TE | LV

Browns' Jesse James: Goes to IR with biceps injury

Cleveland placed James (biceps) on IR on Tuesday.

James will now have to miss at least the next four weeks, including the Browns' matchup versus Pittsburgh, his former team, Thursday. Regardless, David Njoku is Cleveland's clear number one tight end and nearly an every-down player, and Harrison Bryant (thumb) has played ahead of James up to this point too.

  • Johnny Mundt TE | PHI

Vikings' Johnny Mundt: Gets another start at TE

Mundt had two receptions for 28 yards on three targets in Monday's loss at Philadelphia.

Mundt started at tight end for a second consecutive game, but Irv Smith had the larger workload with eight targets and more snaps on offense (34 to 28). With Smith being eased into action after thumb surgery, Mundt's role in the passing game should decrease as Smith gets even more opportunities.

  • Dalton Schultz TE | HOU

Cowboys' Dalton Schultz: Iffy for Monday night

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Tuesday that Schultz is dealing with a PCL sprain to his right knee and is being viewed as questionable in advance of Dallas' Week 3 game Monday against the Giants, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports. "We'll see how he works this week. My assessment is [the knee injury] is not long term," Jones said of Schultz.

Schultz's injury caused him to exit late in the Cowboys' win over the Bengals last Sunday, and he seems unlikely to be a full practice participant when Dallas begins Week 3 prep in earnest Thursday. Jones' comments suggest that Schultz could make enough progress as the week unfolds to suit up Monday, but fantasy managers may want to begin preparing to have another option available to use at tight end Week 3 in case the 26-year-old isn't ready to play versus the Giants. Even if Schultz gains clearance for Monday's game, he'll be catching passes once again from Cooper Rush while Dak Prescott (thumb) is sidelined until at least Week 4. Before he exited Sunday, Schultz caught two balls for 18 yards on four targets while playing 90 percent of Dallas' snaps on offense.
