  • Packers' Dominique Dafney: Draws few targets in 2021

Dafney was targeted four times and caught two passes for 34 yards over 10 appearances in the 2021 season.

The 10 appearances were twice as many as Dafney tallied the season before, but he finished with relatively the same stats he put up in 2020 and did not find the end zone. The Packers will have the option to bring him back for another season or allow him to seek opportunities elsewhere.

  • Marcedes Lewis TE | DEN

Packers' Marcedes Lewis: Plays in every game in 16th season

Lewis was targeted 28 times and caught 23 passes for 214 yards over 17 appearances in the 2021 season.

Lewis has not been a fantasy factor for awhile, but he filled a steady role for the Packers in 2021, appearing in every game and serving as the team's top blocking tight end. The 16-year veteran signed a two-year contract with the Packers last month, so he figures to return to Green Bay for another go-around.

  • Packers' Josiah Deguara: Finishes season as starter

Deguara was targeted 33 times and caught 25 passes for 245 yards and two touchdowns over 16 appearances in the 2021 season.

Deguara played a bit role early in the season, but he moved up the depth chart when fellow tight end Robert Tonyan suffered a season-ending knee injury in Week 8 and finished the campaign as the Packers' top tight end. He did not do a whole lot outside of two long scores, but he was taken in the third round just two years ago, so he's going to get more opportunities in 2022. Just how many remains to be seen, as Tonyan will be a free agent this offseason.

  • Tyler Higbee TE | LAR

Rams' Tyler Higbee: Sits out practice

Higbee (knee) was listed as a non-participant on Wednesday's estimated injury report, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Higbee's lack of activity comes as no surprise after he was unable to return to this past Sunday's win in the NFC Championship Game versus the 49ers due to what head coach Sean McVay later revealed to be a sprained MCL. The tight end will have two weeks to put himself in a position to suit up in the Super Bowl against the Bengals on Feb. 13, but if he's unable to go, Kendall Blanton would be the biggest beneficiary at tight end.

  • Matt Bushman TE | KC

Chiefs' Matt Bushman: Remaining with Kansas City

The Chiefs signed Bushman to a reserve/future contract Wednesday, Pete Sweeney of ArrowheadPride.com reports.

Bushman was elevated to the Raiders' active roster twice during the regular season but didn't play a significant role. He joined Kansas City's practice squad in early January and will now attempt to carve out a role with the team during the offseason.

  • C.J. Uzomah TE | PHI

Bengals' C.J. Uzomah: Estimated as non-participant

Uzomah (knee) was listed as a non-participant on Wednesday's estimated practice report, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.

Per Ben Baby of ESPN.com, the tight end is thought to be dealing with a sprained MCL that he suffered during this past Sunday's AFC Championship Game victory over Kansas City. With the Super Bowl matchup with the Rams not arriving until Feb. 13, Uzomah is afforded some added healing time. More clarity regarding his status for the Super Bowl is likely to arrive during the Bengals' practice sessions next week.

  • Tanner Hudson TE | CIN

49ers' Tanner Hudson: Receives future deal

Hudson signed a reserve/future contract with the 49ers on Monday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.

Hudson played two games for the 49ers this season in Weeks 5 and 7, after suiting up 20 times for Tampa Bay between 2019 and 2020. The 26-year-old has five catches on 12 targets for 67 yards in his career. He'll now work to carve out a bigger role in 2022.

  • Tyler Higbee TE | LAR

Rams' Tyler Higbee: Officially has MCL sprain

Higbee suffered an MCL sprain during Sunday's 20-17 win against the 49ers in the NFC Championship Game, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.

Coach Sean McVay relayed the news, which followed a report from Ian Rapoport of NFL Network earlier Monday that Higbee doesn't have a significant injury, but his availability for Super Bowl LVI versus the Bengals is to be determined. The Rams are expected to take Higbee's recovery day by day with the hope he'll be healthy enough to play on Sunday, Feb. 13. If he's out or limited, though, Higbee would yield TE duties to Kendall Blanton, who recorded five catches (on five targets) for 57 yards this past Sunday.

  • Tyler Higbee TE | LAR

Rams' Tyler Higbee: Uncertain for Super Bowl

Higbee (knee) appears to have avoided significant damage, but his availability for the Super Bowl is up in the air, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Higbee and Bengals tight end C.J. Uzomah (knee) may be the two biggest injury question marks for the upcoming Super Bowl on Feb. 13. Higbee left Sunday's NFC Championship Game after only 14 snaps, leaving Kendall Blanton as the team's only tight end with rookie Brycen Hopkins on the inactive list. Blanton had a big part in the win with five catches for 57 yards, and he may handle a three-down role in the Super Bowl if Higbee isn't ready.

  • C.J. Uzomah TE | PHI

Bengals' C.J. Uzomah: Appears to have sprained MCL

Coach Zac Taylor said Monday that Uzomah appears to have suffered a sprained MCL during Sunday's AFC Championship Game against Kansas City, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.

Uzomah was unable to return to Sunday's matchup after sustaining a left knee injury in the first quarter. Although Taylor called the early diagnosis "encouraging," it's not yet clear whether the tight end will be available for the Super Bowl on Sunday, Feb. 13. If Uzomah is unable to suit up against the Rams, Drew Sample and Mitchell Wilcox should handle increased workloads for Cincinnati.
