Deguara (shin) is questionable for Monday's game versus the Falcons.

Deguara logged two straight limited practice sessions to finish off the practice week, so he may gear up for the first time since Week 1. Meanwhile, Marcedes Lewis (knee) is considered doubtful, so Deguara could operate as the No. 3 tight end Monday.

The lack of pass-catching depth for the Packers continues to rear its ugly head as Allen Lazard's undefined absence following core muscle surgery is only worsened by Lewis' doubtful designation. Robert Tonyan and Jace Sternberger will continue to operate as the two main TEs for the Packers, but the wide receiver corps is dangerously thin behind Davante Adams (hamstring) and Marquez Valdes-Scantling, which would have likely allowed for the veteran to see a few more snaps if he were able to play.

Fant is not expected to play next week against the Patriots, but is considered "week-to-week" in subsequent games, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

If there's a bit of a silver lining for Fant it's that he doesn't appear to have suffered a season-ending ankle injury during Thursday's win over the Jets. An elongated absence is hardly a consolation prize considering the Broncos are practically devoid of healthy pass catchers with Courtland Sutton (knee) on IR and Jerry Jeudy banged up entering Thursday's matchup. Albert Okwuegbunam makes for an intriguing speculative add in deep leagues considering his speed (4.49 40-yard dash), but it's worth reiterating the rookie was a healthy inactive Thursday with Jake Butt and Nick Vannett both ahead of him on the depth chart despite the obvious difference in athletic talent.

Lewis (knee) was absent from practice Saturday, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.

Lewis didn't participate in Thursday's practice, either, as he deals with an unspecified knee issue. His absence wouldn't be a major blow to the Packers' plans, as he's caught just two passes all year, though one of those passes came in the end zone.

Tomlinson was cut by the Giants on Friday.

Tomlinson was let go in order to make room for a player to fill a position in more need. He is expected to sign with the team's practice squad.

Cager (hamstring) reverted to the Jets' practice squad Friday, per the NFL's official transaction log.

Cager suffered a serious hamstring injury during Thursday's loss to the Broncos, and coach Adam Gase expects him to miss a "couple weeks." The 23-year-old wide receiver will officially be on the practice squad during his recovery.

Deguara (shin) was a limited participant in Friday's practice, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.

Deguara sat out Thursday's practice but was able to get some work in Friday. His practice capacity Saturday will help reveal the tight end's status for Monday's matchup against the Falcons. Even if he suits up, however, Robert Tonyan and Jace Sternberger figure to handle most of the reps as they did in Week 3.

Trautman is expected to have an uptick in usage Sunday versus the Lions following news that Jared Cook (groin) has been ruled out, John Sigler of USA Today reports.

Star wideout and typical target monster Michael Thomas (ankle) has also been ruled out. Missing Cook is a big loss for the Saints, as he ranks second on the team with 15 targets, but the team has faith that Trautman can step up. The rookie third-rounder out of Dayton has caught all three of his targets for 34 yards this season, and he was quite productive in his final collegiate season with a 70-916-14 line. With no other tight ends currently on the active roster, Trautman could handle a full workload Sunday.

Coach Vic Fangio said Friday that Fant (ankle) doesn't have a season-ending injury, but "there's a chance he will miss some time," Troy Renck of Denver7 reports.

Fant was carted off during Thursday's win over the Jets, and the team is running tests to determine how long the second-year tight end will be out. It's a positive sign that he avoided a season-ending injury considering how well he's played this season with a 19-219-2 line through four games. However, the Broncos are already without wideout Courtland Sutton (torn ACL) for the rest of the season and may need to lean on rookies Jerry Jeudy and KJ Hamler even more moving forward. Jake Butt, Nick Vannett and possibly rookie Albert Okwuegbunam could see additional snaps during Fant's absence.

Cager (hamstring) is expected to miss a "couple weeks," per coach Adam Gase, Ralph Vacchiano of SNY.tv reports. "The MRI wasn't as bad as what it looked on the field. Obviously it's going to be probably a couple weeks, but we got a little lucky there," Gase said.

Cager sustained the injury in Thursday's game against the Broncos, crumpling to the turf while clutching his hamstring on a non-contact injury. While it's a relief that the undrafted rookie didn't suffer an even more serious injury, Cager looks unlikely to suit up against the Cardinals in Week 5 and could miss time beyond that game as well.
