  • Cole Kmet TE | CHI

Bears' Cole Kmet: Hauls in one pass

Kmet caught a 12-yard pass in Chicago's 17-13 win over the Giants on Sunday.

For the second week in a row, the rookie was targeted just a single time, and unless his role in the passing attack is significantly increased, he'll have very limited fantasy value.

  • Jonnu Smith TE | PIT

Titans' Jonnu Smith: Scores second and third TDs of 2020

Smith caught four of five targets, racking up 84 receiving yards and two touchdowns during Sunday's 33-30 win against the Jaguars.

The 25-year-old tight end is off to a sterling start to his 2020 campaign, having already matched his career high in touchdown receptions through just two outings. Smith's involvement in the passing offense has significantly spiked; he is on pace for over 95 targets this year after never exceeding 44 targets in any of his first three professional seasons. There's no guarantee that Smith continues to produce the way he has between Week 1 and 2 once A.J. Brown (knee) makes his return to the receiving corps, but it is notable that Brown (eight) and Smith (seven) were only separated by one target when both were in the lineup against Denver last Monday. Heading into Week 3, Smith prepares to face a Vikings defense that surrendered five catches and 111 yards to Indianapolis' Mo Alie-Cox on Sunday.

  • Jimmy Graham TE | NO

    Bears' Jimmy Graham: Targeted once

Graham caught one pass for 18 yards in the Bears' 17-13 victory over the Giants on Sunday.

With the Bears leading throughout, they were very conservative on offense, as only Allen Robinson saw more than three targets. Graham saw just a single target, which was a massive difference from the seven he saw last week. Aside from his Week 1 touchdown, he has just 43 yards over two games, and he has the look of a low-floor, low-upside weekly fantasy option.

  • Mike Gesicki TE | CIN

Dolphins' Mike Gesicki: Explodes for career-best effort

Gesicki secured eight of 11 targets for 130 yards and a touchdown in the Dolphins' 31-28 loss to the Bills on Sunday.

During his rookie season in former head coach Adam Gase's offense, Gesicki bore little resemblance to the player that put up a combined 105 receptions, 1,242 yards and 14 touchdown receptions over his final two college seasons at Penn State. However, the third-year tight end began to pick up steam in the second half of last season, and Sunday, he single-handedly dispelled the notion that tight ends are doomed to minimal roles in coordinator Chan Gailey's scheme. Gesicki paced Miami in receptions, receiving yards and targets, and his one score came with 49 seconds remaining to bring the Dolphins within three points. It remains to be seen if Gesicki's stellar performance is an outlier, but he'll have a chance to quickly follow it up in a Week 3 road matchup against the Jaguars on Thursday night.

  • Dalton Schultz TE | HOU

Cowboys' Dalton Schultz: Breaks out with nine catches, TD

Schultz corralled nine of 10 targets for 88 yards and a touchdown, losing one fumble during Sunday's 40-39 win against the Falcons.

Fantasy GMs in leagues large and small will be rushing to the waiver wire to add the 24-year-old tight end, as he may have secured a key role within Dallas' high-octane passing attack as result of Blake Jarwin's torn ACL. Schultz attracted just 19 combined targets across his first 27 NFL appearances between 2018 and 2019, but he has already garnered 14 in the early going of the new campaign. The slate toughens up somewhat in Week 3, as the Cowboys take on a Seahawks defense that permitted just three catches and 38 receiving yards to the tight end position in its season opener.

  • Tyler Higbee TE | LAR

Rams' Tyler Higbee: Hat trick in comfortable win

Higbee caught all five of his targets for 54 yards and three touchdowns in the Rams' 37-19 win over the Eagles on Sunday.

Higbee caught Jared Goff's first touchdown of the game from four yards out early in the first quarter. He then got open in the end zone just minutes into the second quarter before capping off his day with a 28-yard scamper down the left sideline where he went in untouched for the hat trick before waving and bowing to the empty stadium. After a huge finish to the 2019 season, it seems Higbee has carried momentum into 2020, settling in as a top-three option in the Rams' passing game.

  • Evan Engram TE | DEN

Giants' Evan Engram: Registers 65 yards versus Bears

Engram caught six of eight targets for 65 yards in Sunday's 17-13 loss to the Bears.

Engram was targeted just once in the first half, but QB Daniel Jones turned to him when trying to put together a comeback. The fourth-year TE ended up leading the team in receptions, targets and receiving yards. This increase in usage came after Sterling Shepard (toe) and Saquon Barkley (knee) left the game. Barkley may be done for the year with a torn ACL, but Shepard's injury doesn't appear to be as serious. When Shepard returns, the two could battle for targets.

  • Dawson Knox TE | BUF

Bills' Dawson Knox: Suffers concussion Sunday

Knox won't return to Sunday's game versus the Dolphins after suffering a concussion.

Knox reeled in a 38-yard reception before leaving the game and entering concussion protocol. Tyler Kroft and Reggie Gilliam will handle the reps at tight end for the remainder of Sunday's contest.

  • Chiefs' Ricky Seals-Jones: Healthy scratch Week 2

Seals-Jones (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's Week 2 tilt against the Chargers, Adam Teicher of ESPN.com reports.

The veteran tight end has some name value from his past NFL exploits, but on a Chiefs team that features Travis Kelce at the top of the positional depth chart, Seals-Jones may have an uphill battle for active status on some weeks. Seals-Jones did not see the field Week 1 against the Texans either, as he appears to have been usurped for the backup role to Kelce by undrafted rookie Nick Keizer at the moment.

  • Chargers' Donald Parham: Inactive Week 2

Parham (coach's decision) will not suit up for Los Angeles' Week 2 matchup against the Chiefs, per the Chargers' official Twitter account.

The Stetson product still waits for the chance to make his NFL regular-season debut, after playing for the XFL's Dallas Renegades this past winter. Hunter Henry will, of course, serve as the starter against Kansas City, while Virgil Green and Stephen Anderson stand to see action in multi-tight end sets.
