Fant caught all four of his targets for 33 total yards during Sunday's 16-14 loss to Chicago. He led Denver's tight ends in offensive snaps with 54 -- 16 more than teammate Jeff Heuerman.

Fant jumpstarted a field-goal drive late in the third quarter, opening up the possession with a 24-yard deep grab. Though he's been criticized for his blocking, he's been a solid weapon to start the season -- four of his six receptions going for first downs -- and he has still yet to fully display the unique athletic profile that got him drafted in the first round. He probably isn't worth considering until those moments flash with more regularity, which will be tough Week 3 against a stingy Packers defense.

The Giants claimed Smith off waivers Monday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

Smith will provide New York with tight end depth behind uncontested No.1 option Evan Engram. To make room for Smith on the 53-man roster, the Giants waived Paul Perkins.

Smith lost a yard on his only reception and had two targets in Sunday's loss at Green Bay.

Smith played on 27 of the offense's 65 snaps. It's promising that he got his first target and reception of the season, and he did run routes on 17 of his 27 snaps. However, he's such a small factor in the offense that he's not a viable option in almost any fantasy format at the moment.

Hurst caught his lone target for a one-yard touchdown Sunday against the Cardinals.

The second-year tight end has caught all four of his targets for 42 yards and a score this season, but he continues to be a rotational piece at best among the Baltimore tight ends. Mark Andrews is the clear top target among this position group, and Nick Boyle's blocking has kept him on the field for the most snaps of these three. Hurst is tied for fourth on the team in target share and fourth in snap count, but his 42 percent share of the snaps Week 2 may be more indicative of his role moving forward than his 56 percent share from the blowout in the season opener.

Smythe caught his only target for 24 yards during Sunday's 43-0 loss to the Patriots.

Smythe's 24-yard catch was the longest of his career. It's encouraging to see the second-year tight end flash as a receiver, but he still appears set to primarily serve a blocking role behind top option Mike Gesicki.

Sample had two catches for 25 yards in Sunday's loss to the Niners.

After virtually being absent from the offensive game plan Week 1, Sample saw some targets in garbage time this week. The 2019 second-round pick could spend a lot of time learning the ropes this year, with an eye on getting more asked of him in 2020.

A week after getting four catches for 66 yards, Uzomah wasn't even targeted once in Sunday's loss to the Niners.

Uzomah in a way was a casualty of the Bengals' offensive line woes. On many occasions, he was called upon to stay in and block, and once got beat pretty badly on an Andy Dalton sack. These are the duties that Tyler Eifert is rarely asked to do.

Lewis was targeted once but did not make a reception in Sunday's victory over the Vikings.

Packers tight ends were nearly invisible Week 2, as Lewis was the only one to even see a pass in his direction. Despite that, Lewis remains in a reserve role behind Jimmy Graham, who played 54 snaps Sunday, compared to Lewis' 31 and Robert Tonyan's 22.

Everett caught three of his five targets for 21 yards during Sunday's 27-9 win over New Orleans.

The third-year tight end should see a spike in opportunity with Tyler Higbee nursing a short-term lung injury that projects to limit his availability. Everett is athletic and owns the big-play potential to move the fantasy needle. He's recorded eight 20-yard catches, three 40-yard receptions and five touchdowns in a limited role through his first two seasons, after all.

Goedert re-injured the calf that bothered him in August, Martin Frank of The Delaware News Journal reports.

Goedert made it back for Week 1 and wasn't on the Week 2 injury report, but he seems to have re-injured his calf during warmups for Sunday's game against the Falcons. With Alshon Jeffery (calf) and DeSean Jackson (groin) exiting in the first half, the Eagles were forced to use Zach Ertz, Nelson Agholor, JJ Arcega-Whiteside and Mack Hollins on practically every snap over the final three quarters of a 24-20 loss. The Eagles may need to sign another tight end -- and possibly a wide receiver or two -- before they face the Lions in Week 3.
