Manasseh Garner TE | WAS
Chiefs' Manasseh Garner: Lands in Kansas City
Garner (knee) signed a contract with the Chiefs on Monday.
Garner was previously waived by the Redskins in June, at which point he was still recovering from an ACL injury that sidelined him during OTAs. The 27-year-old's contract with the Chiefs likely indicates that he's taking positive steps in his recovery. When fully healthy, Garner will compete for a depth role in Kansas City's tight end room.

Ricky Seals-Jones TE | IND
Cardinals' Ricky Seals-Jones: Unofficially third-stringer
Seals-Jones is listed as a third-string tight end behind Charles Clay and Maxx Williams on the Cardinals' unofficial depth chart in advance of Thursday's preseason game against the Raiders.
Seals-Jones got the starting nod in the team's exhibition opener last Thursday versus the Chargers, catching both his targets for 28 yards while playing 26 of the 68 offensive snaps. While his "demotion" may seem sudden, it comes on the heels of the Cardinals activating veteran TE Clay (knee) from the PUP list. The Cards seem to be easing Clay back into action, limiting his reps at Monday's practice, which could allow Seals-Jones to work with the first-teamers yet again this Thursday. In the end, Seals-Jones' experience in the Air Raid at Texas A&M and Clay's age (30) and injury history (10 DNPs over the last four seasons) make the former a good bet to be a regular target of Kyler Murray, at the very least, in 2019.

Dalton Schultz TE | HOU
Cowboys' Dalton Schultz: Managing ankle injury
Schultz did not practice Monday due to an ankle injury, David Moore of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Schultz is reportedly considered day-to-day. As long as the 2018 fourth-round pick remains sidelined, Codey McElroy and Marcus Lucas stand to see increased reps behind veteran tight end Jason Witten.

David Njoku TE | LAC
Browns' David Njoku: Absence blamed on knee issue
Njoku was held out of Monday's practice with a knee injury, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
The injury doesn't appear serious at first glance, considering Njoku was able to work out on a side field with injured teammates. He started last week's preseason game against Washington, finishing without a target on seven snaps.

Josh Oliver TE | MIN
Jaguars' Josh Oliver: Doing individual work
Oliver (hamstring) worked out Monday on a side field, Phillip Heilman of The Athletic reports.
Oliver hasn't practiced since injuring his hamstring Aug. 1. Coach Doug Marrone hopes to have the rookie ready for Week 1, but all the missed time this summer will make it difficult for Oliver to open the season with a key role. The Jaguars list both Geoff Swaim and James O'Shaughnessy as starters on their preseason depth chart, with Oliver and Ben Koyack falling in behind.

T.J. Hockenson TE | MIN
Lions' T.J. Hockenson: Could be No. 2 to start season
Hockenson has displayed nice concentration in training camp practices and "doesn't seem to be fazed by traffic in tight spaces at all," Justin Rogers of the Detroit News reports.
Hockenson, who was tabbed with the No. 8 selection in April's draft, has displayed his skills in training camp and is a big part of the future of the Lions offense, but Terez A. Paylor of Yahoo Sports suggests that the talented rookie will "likely start out the year as the (team's) No. 2 tight end behind Jesse James." That's reflected by the Lions' posted depth chart, but not Hockenson's current ADP, which is more reflective of his long-term upside than his likely early season fantasy prospects.

Dallas Goedert TE | PHI
Eagles' Dallas Goedert: Expects to be ready for Week 1
Goedert, who is dealing with tightness in his calf, expects to be full-go by the time the regular season rolls around, Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News reports.
He caught 33 passes for 334 yards and four TDs as a rookie last season and is clearly behind Zach Ertz (who caught 116 passes last year) in the Eagles' tight end pecking order. If Ertz suffers an injury of his own down the road, Goedert would merit immediate fantasy attention.

David Njoku TE | LAC
Browns' David Njoku: Spotted on rehab field
Njoku (undisclosed) is working on a side field with the rehab group at Monday's practice, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
This is the first report of any injury for Cleveland's starting tight end. The team has been shorthanded at the position, with Demetrius Harris and Seth DeValve both recovering from concussions during the early portion of training camp, so a lengthy absence by Njoku could have the Browns scrounging through the free-agent pool for depth.

Eric Saubert TE | SEA
Patriots' Eric Saubert: Traded to Pats
Saubert has been traded to the Patriots from the Falcons for a conditional seventh-round pick, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
A 2017 fifth-round pick by the Falcons, Saubert has caught five passes for 48 yards in 30 NFL games. He'll join a Patriots team that's battling injuries at tight end, but the minimal compensation suggests Saubert will face a difficult path to earning a spot on the 53-man roster.
