He was not heavily utilized in the passing game during his college days, but he showed route-running and pass-catching skills that foretell a potentially prosperous NFL career. The 6-foot-4, 255-pound Moreau averaged 23 receptions for 275 yards and 2.5 touchdowns between his junior and senior seasons for the Tigers.

Kelce caught one pass for 36 yards against the Bengals in the team's first preseason contest Saturday.

Kelce beat safety Shawn Williams on a deep route on the team's first offensive play. While he was only on the field for one series, it's clear that Kelce will remain a focal point of the offense throughout the regular season. Though there were some questions regarding Kelce's health due to offseason ankle surgery, his participation in training camp and the team's first preseason contest should be reassuring.

Sample hauled in one pass on three targets for seven yards in the team's first preseason game against the Chiefs on Saturday.

Sample managed to haul in his first pass in game action, a seven-yard reception from Jeff Driskel. Unfortunately, he stood out more for mental mistakes, as he was penalized for a false start as well as offensive pass interference. Overall, the second-round pick failed to take advantage of his first chance to make a positive game-situation impression on his new team.

Kittle isn't expected to play in Saturday's preseason game versus the Cowboys, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury Newsn reports.

The vast majority of expected starters are taking a seat, Kittle among them. The approach is a prudent one after the tight end admitted to playing through injuries, including broken ribs, during his 2018 breakout and also dealing with a minor hip issue in the offseason. Kittle was equally successful with every 49ers quarterback last season, so he shouldn't miss a beat with Jimmy Garoppolo (knee) slated to be on the field Week 1 and beyond.

Wells (undisclosed) was waived/injured by Kansas City on Friday, according to the NFL's official transactions log.

It's unclear what injury Wells suffered, but he'll head to IR once he clears waivers.

Goedert (calf) is labeled week-to-week, but Zack Rosenblatt of The Newark Star-Ledger does not believe the tight end will play for the rest of the preseason.

Goedert didn't play in the team's opening preseason contest but the injury wasn't believed to be serious. In any case, the Eagles are likely just taking precautions with their second-year tight end considering the lack of news prior to Saturday's announcement.

Smith Jr. caught three of seven targets for 21 yards during Friday's 35-24 preseason win over the Saints.

Smith Jr. curiously managed just three seven-yard receptions, but it wasn't for a lack of effort, as he was the only Vikings player with more than three targets. He didn't feature alongside Kirk Cousins and the starters, though the team clearly made an effort to get him the ball once the substitutions rolled in. Smith Jr. is a player to watch and will look to produce more efficiently in the next contest against the Seahawks.

Arnold caught two of three targets for 27 yards and a touchdown during Friday's 34-25 preseason loss to the Vikings.

Arnold finished third on the team in receiving yards and tied for third in targets, punctuating his performance with an 18-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter. It was an impressive preseason debut for Arnold, who currently sits third on the depth chart behind Jared Cook and Josh Hill. Neither of his aforementioned teammates contributed in this one, but they should combine for a sizable share of the snaps in the next contest against the Chargers.

Barnes signed a contract with the Raiders on Friday.

Barnes was waived/injured by the Lions back in May and had been on the team's injured reserve until he was waived a couple weeks ago. Now, he'll join the Raiders for the preseason, but given their current tight end depth, he should be considered a long shot to make the final roster.

Coach Sean McDermott said Knox (hamstring) is "getting better," but he's not yet ready to practice, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.

Knox picked up a hamstring injury in late July, becoming the third Bills tight end to be affected by a health concern. While Tyler Kroft also remains sidelined due to a broken foot, Jason Croom (hamstring) was able to return to practice Friday. McDermott noted that Knox is a bit behind Croom in his recovery, so the rookie third-rounder may be back on the field in the near future.
