The loss of D.J. Fluker to injury has prompted the Chargers to sign fellow offensive lineman Kenny Wiggins and waive tight end Kyle Miller, the San Diego Union-Tribune has reported.

Wiggins played the last two seasons with San Diego. Miller, who was claimed in the spring, has played in just two NFL games over five seasons. He has yet to catch a pass.

If Titans tight end Delanie Walker has to miss Sunday's game against the Browns due to a hand injury, it seems coach Ken Whisenhunt is counting on Chase Coffman to help fill in for the veteran tight end.

Tennessee elected to keep five tight ends on the roster to start the season. They are Walker, Coffman, Anthony Fasano, Craig Stevens and Phillip Supernaw. Coffman was the only tight end inactive for Sunday's season opener against the Bucs.

“I would say we would have to be in good shape. We have five tight ends on our roster,’’ Whisenhunt said, per the team's official website. “But it's good that we do have that option. I think that some of things that Delanie does well, Chase can fill that role if we need him to, which is good.”

Walker had three catches for 43 yards and one touchdown in a 42-14 win over the Bucs in Week 1.

Eagles tight end Zach Ertz was able to take the field in Monday's season opener against the Falcons after sitting out most of the preseason due to a core muscle injury. 

Despite not having the opportunity to work with starting quarterback Sam Bradford much during the preseason, Ertz was targeted eight times Monday. He finished with three catches for 46 yards and said he was “open a lot of the game.”

“The ball didn’t come my way because we had other guys making plays and I thought they did an unbelievable job,” Ertz said, per the team's official website. “Obviously, I’m sore from not taking a hit since last season, really, because I hadn’t experienced any live action in the preseason, but I’m just really looking forward to the Cowboys coming in.”

Eagles tight end Zach Ertz is active and ready to play in Week 1 at Atlanta on Monday, the team announced.

Ertz was listed as questionable with a groin injury. He is entering his third season with the Eagles after producing 58 catches for 702 yards and three touchdowns last season.

Lions coach Jim Caldwell offered no updates Monday on the statuses of quarterback Matthew Stafford, tight end Brandon Pettigrew and cornerback Darius Slay, who all sustained injuries during Sunday's season opener at San Diego.

"You'll see on the injury report on Wednesday," Caldwell told reporters, per The Detroit News.

Stafford got dinged up on a blind-side blitz midway through the third quarter Sunday, per MLive.com. He finished the game with a sleeve on his right (throwing) arm and showed up for his postgame press conference with scraping on his left arm. The Lions backup quarterback is Dan Orlovsky.

"You saw him get hit, obviously," Caldwell said after Sunday's game. "Once he got hit, it was just a way of keeping him going."

Pettigrew (undisclosed) was injured on the extra-point try on Detroit's final touchdown, while Slay did not finish the game due to an ankle injury suffered in the fourth quarter. Both players will undergo further medical testing.

Cowboys tightend Gavin Escobar came up huge in his team's win over the Giants on Sunday.

Escobar caught both passes thrown his way for a total of eight yards and a touchdown. He scored on a 2-yard pass from Tony Romo late in the third quarter.

The Cowboys face the Eagles in Week 2. 

Lions tight end Brandon Pettigrew had to leave Sunday's game at San Diego after injuring his left hamstring, reports the Detroit Free Press. Pettigrew suffered the injury in the fourth quarter and did not return.

Tightend Jimmy Graham didn't wait long to score his first touchdown as a member of the Seahawks.

Graham caught six passes for 51 yards and a touchdown in his team debut against the Rams on Sunday. His score came on a seven-yard pass from Russell Wilson early in the fourth quarter, as Seattle was in the midst of a comeback.

The Seahawks are back in action Week 2 against the Packers.

Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce caught all six intended passes in their season opener against the Texans on Sunday. Kelce, who received a team-high 106 yards, caught two touchdown passes in the 27-20 victory.

The Chiefs host the Broncos for Week 2 on Thursday.

Colts tight end Dwayne Allen caught just three of the six passes thrown his way by Andrew Luck in Buffalo on Sunday.

One of those, however, was a 6-yard scoring strike in the fourth quarter. Allen finished with 17 yards receiving.

His team hosts the Jets on Monday night in Week 2.
