The Dolphins cut wide receiver Jabar Gaffeny the team announced Tuesday. Gaffney had four catches for 68 yards in three games with Miami. Kyle Miller, who was claimed off waivers from the Colts, was signed to the 53-man roster.

The Jets continued tweaking their roster Saturday and released defensive lineman Marcus Dixon, according to the New York Post. The team also claimed three players off waivers: defensive lineman Isaako Aaitui; wide receiver Clyde Gates; and tight end Konrad Reuland.

Notable players cut by the Rams Friday include: DT Cornell Banks; QB Tom Brandstater; DE Mason Brodine; LB Aaron Brown; LB Sammy Brown; DB Kendric Burney; QB Kellen Clemens; DE Vernon Gholston; TE Ben Guidugli; TE Cory Harkey; DE Jamaar Jarrett; WR Nick Johnson; FB Ovie Mughelli; TE Deangelo Peterson; RB Chase Reynolds and DE Scott Smith.

The Seahawks waived or released the following players Friday: DB Phillip Adams, DE Pierre Allen, LB Allen Bradford, WR Deon Butler, WR Kris Durham, TE Cooper Helfet (waived/injured), DL Lazarius Levingston (injury settlement), WR Jermaine Kearse, LB Kyle Knox, WR Ricardo Lockette, TE Sean McGrath, QB Josh Portis, DB DeShawn Shead, FB Vai Taua (waived/injured), LB Korey Toomer and WR Lavasier Tuinei.

The Giants continued trimming their roster Friday in preparation for the regular season and released the following players: linebackers Greg Jones and Jake Muasau; defensive linemen Marcus Thomas and Matt Broha; wide receivers Dan DePalma and Isaiah Stanback; and tight end Larry Donnell.

Notable Texans players either waived or released Friday include: tight end Logan Brock, defensive end Keith Browner, outside linebacker D.J. Bryant, nose tackle Hebron Fangupo, defensive end David Hunter, wide receiver Juaquin Iglesias, outside linebacker Delano Johnson, defensive end Mitch King, inside linebacker Shawn Loiseau, wide receiver Jeff Maehl, outside linebacker Rennie Moore and tight end Phillip Supernaw.
