  • David Njoku TE | CLE

Browns' David Njoku: Hopes to play Sunday

Njoku, who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Chiefs, said Friday that he's dealing with tightness in his hamstring but hopes to play this weekend, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.

After coach Kevin Stefanski deemed Njoku day-to-day due to a hamstring injury Wednesday, the tight end proceeded to sit out all three Week 15 practices. The Browns are keeping the door open for Njoku to suit up this weekend, and he even noted Friday that the team will have a better idea of his status Sunday morning, implying his availability will be tied to a pregame workout. Ultimately, Cleveland will reveal whether or not Njoku will be able to play about 90 minutes before a 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff.

  • Tyler Higbee TE | LAR

Rams' Tyler Higbee: Likely to return in Week 16

Coach Sean McVay said Higbee (knee) is expected to make his season debut Sunday, Dec. 22 at the Jets, barring a setback in his recovery, Greg Beacham of the Associated Press reports.

Higbee has been listed as a full participant on Rams injury reports the past two weeks, but the team opted not to activate him for Week 14 or 15. Los Angeles must do so by this coming Wednesday, or else he'll remain on the reserve/PUP list for the rest of the campaign. Higbee is in the final stages of his recovery from the ACL and MCL tears that he suffered in his right knee Jan. 14 in a playoff loss at Detroit.

  • David Njoku TE | CLE

Browns' David Njoku: Questionable to face Kansas City

Njoku (hamstring) will be listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Chiefs, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com and Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram report.

Njoku didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday and also wasn't spotted at Friday's session, per Oyefusi, but the tight end evidently has a chance to suit up Sunday. Look for added context regarding his Week 15 status to arrive prior to the Browns' 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff, but heading into the weekend, Jordan Akins and Blake Whiteheart are the team's top healthy and available TE options.

  • Quintin Morris TE | BUF

Bills' Quintin Morris: Listed as questionable

Morris (shoulder/groin) is questionable for Sunday's game versus Detroit.

Morris missed last week's loss to the Rams, but he did practice fully earlier this week and is practicing Friday. Dalton Kincaid (knee) is also listed as questionable to face the Lions. Dawson Knox and Zach Davidson would handle tight end duties if both players were unable to play Sunday.

  • Dalton Kincaid TE | BUF

Bills' Dalton Kincaid: Questionable for Sunday

Head coach Sean McDermott noted Friday that Kincaid (knee) will be listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Lions, Alec White of the Bills' official site reports.

Kincaid, who has missed the Bills' last three games, was listed as a full participant in Wednesday's walkthrough and Thursday's practice estimate, and he'll work Friday in some capacity. If he's available versus Detroit, the tight end likely would step back into a key role in Buffalo's passing game. However, given his looming questionable designation, confirmation of Kincaid's Week 15 status won't arrive until inactives are posted ahead of Buffalo's 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff.

  • David Njoku TE | CLE

Browns' David Njoku: Still not practicing

Njoku (hamstring) remained sidelined at practice Friday, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.

Njoku also missed practice Wednesday and Thursday, and the tight end's continued absence Friday doesn't bode well for his chances of suiting up Sunday against the Chiefs. If Njoku is ruled out for the contest, Jordan Akins and Blake Whiteheart would be in line to see added Week 15 snaps, with Tre' McKitty and Cameron Latu representing potential practice-squad elevations.

  • Jaguars' Brenton Strange: Becomes top TE on depth chart

Strange is set for a larger role on offense to close out the 2024 campaign, with head coach Doug Pederson having announced Friday that Evan Engram will miss the rest of the season due to a shoulder injury, John Shipley of SI.com reports.

Strange has recently played 40-plus percent of offensive snaps even with Engram available, and his involvement maxed out at 70-plus percent of snaps when Engram missed Week 2 through 5. Now, beginning Sunday versus the Jets, Strange will be in a position to operate as Jacksonville's top option at tight end with Mac Jones under center. The second-year pro has compiled 23 catches for 256 yards and two touchdowns on 32 targets so far this season across 13 appearances.

  • Evan Engram TE | JAC

Jaguars' Evan Engram: Out for season

Engram (shoulder) will miss the rest of the season due to a torn labrum, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Jaguars coach Doug Pederson made the announcement Friday, after the tight end missed consecutive practices. Brenton Strange figures to step in as Jacksonville's starter, just as he did earlier this season when Engram was out with a hamstring injury. Engram will have surgery soon and should be ready for Week 1 of 2025, but his future in Jacksonville is uncertain with one year remaining on his contract and no current guarantees for a $14.75 million base salary.

  • 49ers' George Kittle: Team-high yardage total in loss

Kittle secured four of seven targets for 61 yards in the 49ers' 12-6 loss to the Rams on Thursday night.

Kittle co-led the 49ers in receptions while comfortably setting the pace in receiving yards. While the talented tight end's performance was nowhere near the caliber of the season-best 151-yard effort he put up against the Bears in Week 14, he's now eclipsed 60 receiving yards in five of the last seven contests heading into a Week 16 road matchup against the Dolphins on Sunday, Dec. 22.

  • Packers' Luke Musgrave: Remains limited in practice

Musgrave (ankle) practiced in a limited fashion Thursday, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.

The Packers designated Musgrave for return from injured reserve Wednesday, and he's followed up the transaction with a pair of capped sessions to begin Week 15 prep. He's seeking his first game action since Week 4 as he closes in on completion of his recovery from ankle surgery that was performed in early October. Whenever Musgrave is back in action, he'll slot in behind Green Bay's top TE Tucker Kraft.
