  • Tanner Hudson TE | CIN

Bengals' Tanner Hudson: Not involved in loss

Hudson failed to record a single offensive snap in Sunday's 26-25 loss to the Chiefs.

Despite dealing with a knee injury heading into Week 2, Hudson was active for Sunday's game against the Chiefs. The veteran, however, was not involved in the contest while Mike Gesicki, Drew Sample and Erick All handled tight end duties. Assuming he is ready and available for Week 3, Hudson should continue to see limited action in the Bengals' offense in a matchup with the Commanders.

  • Drew Sample TE | CIN

Bengals' Drew Sample: Three grabs in Week 2

Sample secured all three of his targets for 28 yards in Sunday's 26-25 loss to the Chiefs.

Sample played 33 of the Bengals' 64 offensive snaps, splitting time with fellow tight ends Mike Gesicki and Erick All. The veteran's minimal production is to be expected with Gesicki operating as the clear top option at tight end while seeing a team-high nine targets in the contest. Going forward, Sample should not be trusted for fantasy purposes. The Bengals will host the Commanders in Week 3.

  • Erick All TE | CIN

Bengals' Erick All: Targeted four times in loss

All secured all four of his targets for 32 yards in Sunday's 26-25 loss to the Chiefs.

All was much more involved in Week 2 after failing to earn a single target in Week 1. The rookie tight end played 33 of the Bengals' 64 offensive snaps against the Chiefs, but he was unable to make much of an impact for fantasy purposes. Heading into a Week 3 matchup against the Commanders, All will likely continue to see a minimal role as the Bengals' fourth tight end behind Mike Gesicki, Drew Sample and Tanner Hudson.

  • Irv Smith TE | HOU

Irv Smith: Joins Texans' practice squad

Houston signed Smith to its practice squad Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Smith played in 12 games with Cincinnati in 2023, but he wasn't able to stick on a 53-man roster ahead of the 2024 season. Now he'll likely get a chance to make an impression with the Texans, especially with Dalton Schultz dealing with an ankle injury and both Brevin Jordan (knee) and Dalton Keene (knee) on injured reserve.

  • Kevin Foelsch TE | PIT

Kevin Foelsch: Let go from practice squad

The Eagles waived Foelsch from the practice squad Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Foelsch has been let go from the Eagles' practice squad for the second time in September, this time to make room for safety Caden Sterns. Should he clear waivers, Foelsch will look to catch on with a team in need of tight end depth, likely on the practice squad.

  • Jordan Matthews: Released by Carolina

The Panthers released Matthews on Tuesday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.

Matthews played in each of Carolina's first two regular-season games, but it looks like the team wasn't satisfied with his performance as a depth option in the tight end corps. His roster spot will be taken by fellow tight end Feleipe Franks, who the Panthers are signing off the practice squad.

  • Feleipe Franks TE | CAR

Panthers' Feleipe Franks: Signed off practice squad

The Panthers signed Franks to the 53-man roster from the practice squad Tuesday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.

Franks only played one offensive snap during Sunday's 26-3 loss to the Chargers due to starting tight end Tommy Tremble ultimately being active. With Ian Thomas (calf) on IR until early October at the earliest, and Jordan Matthews being released, Franks will get a chance to continue holding down a depth role for Carolina.

  • Ben Sinnott TE | WAS

Commanders' Ben Sinnott: Minimal role in win

Sinnott failed to record a single target in Sunday's 21-18 win over the Giants.

Through two weeks, Sinnott has seen the field for just 26 offensive snaps and has not been targeted in the passing game in either contest. The rookie tight end continues to play behind veterans Zach Ertz and John Bates, and he'll likely find it difficult to see consistent playing time in Washington's offense in the early part of the 2024 campaign. Sinnott will look to continue his development in a limited role when the Commanders visit the Bengals in Week 3.

  • Noah Gray TE | KC

Chiefs' Noah Gray: No impression on Week 2 box score

Gray went without a target in Sunday's 26-25 victory over Cincinnati.

On a more positive note, Gray still played 57 percent of the offensive snaps in the game, marking a slight bump from his playing time in the opener against the Ravens. Still, he's unlikely to compile worthwhile fantasy totals while serving in the second-string role at tight end, especially with an additional weapon available to Patrick Mahomes in rookie Xavier Worthy, and with second-year wideout Rashee Rice still gobbling up a hefty target share. Gray could enter the conversation a bit more should Travis Kelce miss some time.

  • Dallas Goedert TE | PHI

Eagles' Dallas Goedert: Gains 38 yards on three catches

Goedert caught three of four targets for 38 yards in Monday's 22-21 loss to the Falcons.

Goedert finished as the Eagles' second-leading receiver now that the team will be without the services of star wideout A.J. Brown (hamstring) for multiple weeks. The starting tight end has turned in two pedestrian fantasy scores through two games this season, but fantasy managers shouldn't give up on the 2018 second-round pick so quickly, as the team has a need for auxiliary targets behind DeVonta Smith for Sunday's tilt against the Saints.
