Tommy Tremble TE | CAR
Panthers' Tommy Tremble: Another limited showing
Tremble (hamstring/back) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.
Tremble has been dealing with a hamstring issue since the early days of training camp in late July, while a back injury showed up on Carolina's Week 1 practice report. They combined to sideline him this past Sunday at New Orleans, but with back-to-back capped sessions under his belt, the tight end seems to be positioning himself to make his season debut this weekend. Ultimately, Friday's report will reveal whether or not he has a designation ahead of Sunday's game against the Chargers.

Davis Allen TE | LAR
Rams' Davis Allen: Doesn't practice Wednesday
Allen (back) didn't participate in the Rams' practice Wednesday, Adam Grosbard of The Orange County Register reports.
Allen was added to the injury report Wednesday after failing to haul in his only target during the team's overtime loss to the Lions. If he ends up being unable to play versus the Cardinals on Sunday, Hunter Long will serve as Los Angeles' backup tight end.
-
Pharaoh Brown TE | IND
Seahawks' Pharaoh Brown: Returns to practice
Brown (foot) was a limited participant at the Seahawks' practice Wednesday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Brown was forced to miss the team's Week 1 win over the Broncos as a result of the foot injury he suffered in mid-August. The tight end's return to practice Wednesday is a step in the right direction and he'll look to log a full practice at one of Seattle's final two sessions of the week before Sunday's matchup with the Patriots.
-
Noah Fant TE | NO
Seahawks' Noah Fant: Stays limited to start week
Fant (toe) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Fant is beginning this week as he did preparations for Week 1 with a capped session. If he follows a similar path this time around, he'll be limited Thursday and a full participant Friday before going into the weekend without a designation. Fant handled a 75 percent share of the offensive snaps this past Sunday against the Broncos on his way to two catches (on four targets) for 11 yards.
-
Jordan Akins TE | JAC
Browns' Jordan Akins: Set to fill in for Njoku in Week 2
Akins is the only healthy tight end on the Browns' roster heading into Sunday's game against the Jaguars, Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
David Njoku (ankle) is considered week-to-week after hurting his ankle in the Browns' 33-17 loss to Dallas in Week 1, and he has already been ruled out against Jacksonville. Akins filled in capably after Njoku got hurt, finishing the season opener with three catches on four targets for 27 yards. The Browns will likely elevate at least one of Geoff Swaim, Cameron Latu or Blake Whiteheart from the practice squad to provide depth behind Akins.
-
Tanner Hudson TE | CIN
Bengals' Tanner Hudson: Not practicing Wednesday
Hudson won't participate in Wednesday's practice due to a knee injury, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.
Hudson caught two of his three targets for 18 yards during Cincinnati's loss to the Patriots in Week 1, but he looks to have picked up a knee injury along the way. The knee issue might have played a part in Hudson logging just nine offensive snaps Week 1, less than fellow tight ends Drew Sample (27) and Mike Gesicki (18). However, it's also possible that Hudson's playing time will lag behind the other two players even if he's able to move past the knee injury ahead of Sunday's game in Kansas City.
-
John Stephens, Jr. TE | DAL
Cowboys' John Stephens: Still sidelined
Stephens (hamstring) did not practice Wednesday, Joe Hoyt of AllDLLS.com reports.
Stephens was unable to practice last week leading up to missing the team's Week 1 win over the Browns. His absence from practice Wednesday will have him on a trajectory to miss Sunday's game against the Saints as well, especially if he is unable to practice in any form Thursday.
-
Dalton Schultz TE | HOU
Texans' Dalton Schultz: Misses practice Wednesday
Schultz did not practice Wednesday due to an ankle injury.
Schultz played 79 percent of the offensive snaps in Houston's Week 1 win over Indianapolis while securing three targets for 16 yards, but he appears to have sustained an ankle injury in the process. The starting tight end will have two more opportunities to increase his practice participation before Houston potentially tags him with an injury designation for Sunday's matchup against the Bears. If Schultz ends up limited or has to sit out Week 2, Brevin Jordan would likely step in as the Texans' primary tight end.
-
Dallin Holker TE | NO
Saints' Dallin Holker: Limited Wednesday
Holker practiced in a limited capacity Wednesday.
Holker missed Week 1 due to an ankle injury that's plagued him since mid-August. The undrafted rookie tight end will project to handle a depth role for New Orleans if he manages to suit up for Sunday's road matchup against the Cowboys.
-
Foster Moreau TE | HOU
Saints' Foster Moreau: Has concussion, but limited
Moreau practiced in a limited fashion Wednesday due to a concussion.
Moreau departed in the fourth quarter of this past Sunday's win against the Panthers to be evaluated for a head injury and was quickly ruled out. The Saints unsurprisingly are listing the tight end with a concussion this week, but his ability to handle some on-field work Wednesday indicates he's making progress through the five-step protocol for head injuries. In any case, Moreau will need to be cleared by an independent neurologist in order to play in Sunday's game at Dallas.
