Dalton Schultz TE | HOU
Texans' Dalton Schultz: Opens week with limited practice
Schultz was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice due to a thigh injury.
After a disappointing Texans debut this past Sunday against the Ravens in which he picked up only four receiving yards, Schultz's Week 2 availability could be in question. The fact that he at least practiced in some capacity is an encouraging sign, but the tight end's status will be worth monitoring nonetheless before the Texans take on the Colts on Sunday.

Darren Waller TE | MIA
Giants' Darren Waller: No practice Wednesday
Waller (hamstring/rest) was a non-participant at Wednesday's practice, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Waller's lack of activity to kick off Week 2 preparations may be a combination veteran's rest day and also to avoid any sort of setback with the hamstring injury that rendered him questionable heading into last week's season opener. In this past Sunday's 40-0 loss to the Cowboys, he shared work at tight end with Daniel Bellinger, logging 38 (of 70) offensive snaps to the latter's 44 while Lawrence Cager received 25 himself. Despite the timeshare being in place -- which may have been a byproduct of the blowout nature of the contest -- Waller paced all Giants in receiving yards with 36 on his three catches. In any case, his status bears watching as the week goes on.

Mark Andrews TE | BAL
Ravens' Mark Andrews: Practicing Wednesday
Andrews (quadriceps) is participating in Wednesday's practice, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
The Ravens will release their first Week 2 injury report later Wednesday, when the team will provide word on whether Andrews was a limited or full participant in practice. The star tight end's ability to get on the field Wednesday in any fashion nonetheless bodes well for his chances of playing Sunday in Cincinnati, though he did log three limited practices last week before ultimately sitting out the season-opening win over the Texans. While Andrews was out, Isaiah Likely filled in as Baltimore's top tight end but caught just one target for a four-yard gain.

Travis Kelce TE | KC
Chiefs' Travis Kelce: In line to practice
Kelce (knee) is slated to practice in a limited capacity Wednesday, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.
Kelce suffered a deep bone bruise in his knee during last Tuesday's practice and ended up being inactive for the Chiefs' 21-20 season-opening loss to the Lions. While the star tight end is in line to be a limited participant when the Chiefs begin Week 2 prep Wednesday, his ability to practice in any capacity is nonetheless a positive sign ahead of this weekend's contest against the Jaguars.

Andrew Ogletree TE | IND
Colts' Andrew Ogletree: Still in concussion protocol
Ogletree (concussion) remains in the NFL's concussion protocol as the Colts begin Week 2 prep Wednesday, James Boyd of The Athletic reports.
Ogletree will need to clear the league's five-step concussion protocol to return to action Sunday in Houston after suffering a blow to the head in the season opener against Jacksonville this past weekend. At this stage, Ogletree seems to be trending toward sitting out Week 2, which would further deplete a Colts tight-end room already without Jelani Woods (hamstring). An Ogletree absence would leave Kylen Granson and Mo Alie-Cox as the leaders in the position group.

Adam Trautman TE | DEN
Broncos' Adam Trautman: Poised for prominent role
Trautman will likely be relied upon as a receiving threat even more with Greg Dulcich (hamstring) sidelined for multiple weeks, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports.
The 26-year-old figures to be the unquestioned primary tight end while Dulcich recovers from a hamstring suffered in Sunday's contest against the Raiders. Trautman already sat atop Denver's depth chart and saw the majority of tight end snaps in Week 1, getting 72 percent of the Broncos' offensive snaps while Dulcich saw a disappointing 33 percent snap share. Additionally, Trautman paced the Broncos in receptions Sunday, catching all five of his targets for 34 yards. The fourth-year veteran should continue to see the bulk of targets at tight end when the Broncos hosts the Commanders in Week 2, with Chris Manhertz likely to step into the No. 2 role.

Austin Allen TE | GB
Austin Allen: Cut from Packers' practice squad
Green Bay cut Allen from its practice squad Tuesday.
In a corresponding move, offensive lineman Michael Jordan was signed to the practice squad. Allen will now have to look for another opportunity with a different team.
-
Miller Forristall TE | LAR
Miller Forristall: Signs with Rams' practice squad
The Rams signed Forristall to their practice squad Tuesday.
After being waived by Cleveland back in August, Forristall has found another opportunity to make an impression with the Rams. As long as Tyler Higbee remains healthy though, it's not likely any other Rams tight end is going to register on the fantasy radar.

Irv Smith TE | HOU
Bengals' Irv Smith: Paltry Bengals debut
Smith had three catches for 17 yards on five targets in Sunday's loss to the Browns.
Smith dropped one ball on third down that, had he caught it, he might have converted into a first down. He also struggled with his blocking assignments, whiffing on the first play from scrimmage -- leading to the first of many occasions when Joe Burrow was under immediate pressure. The Bengals' passing game will have better days, but Smith could lose snaps to Drew Sample if he can't protect the team's $275 million quarterback.

Tyler Conklin TE | DET
Jets' Tyler Conklin: One catch vs. Buffalo
Conklin caught his only target for two yards in Monday's 22-16 overtime win over the Bills.
Conklin was the only tight end to draw a target for the Jets, who went with a run-heavy approach after Aaron Rodgers suffered what turned out to be a season-ending torn Achilles on the opening drive. With New York likely to implement a more risk-averse offense for Zach Wilson moving forward, Conklin could see a slight uptick in usage in Week 2 against the Cowboys and beyond.
