The Giants cut Sims from their practice squad Tuesday.

Sims joined the Giants' practice squad prior to Week 1, but he never made his way onto the active roster before the team decided to part ways with him. He's now set to become a free agent.

Houston cut McCutcheon from its practice squad Tuesday.

McCutcheon is set to become a free agent after joining the Texans' practice squad prior to Week 1. He played in 10 games with the Rams in 2022 but has yet to play a down this regular season.

The Giants designated Beasley (leg) for return from the practice squad injured list and restored him to their practice squad Tuesday.

Beasley had been on the practice squad injured list with a leg issue since before Week 1, but he's now back to full speed and available for the Giants' practice team. Barring injuries to the Giants' receiving corps, his path to significant playing time with the active squad is relatively narrow.

The Patriots designated Thornton (shoulder) for return from injured reserve Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

New England held an unofficial session Tuesday, and Thornton's showed enough for the team to open a 21-day window in which to evaluate him for a potential return to the active roster. He's been impacted by a shoulder injury since Aug. 17 and so far has missed five games to begin the campaign. How Thornton is listed on the Patriots' first Week 6 practice report Wednesday may give a sense of his likelihood of returning Sunday at Las Vegas.

Las Vegas cut Callaway from its practice squad Tuesday.

Callaway was added to the Raiders' practice squad prior to the start of the regular season, but he's now set to become a free agent after Week 5. He has struggled since posting a career-best 698-yard season with New Orleans in 2021.

The Bears signed Johnson to their practice squad Tuesday.

In a corresponding move, the Bears cut kicker John Parker Romo from the practice squad to make room. Johnson is 26 years old and has appeared in 26 career games, last seeing regular-season action in 12 games for the Giants in 2021. He has a career 29-377-2 line on 52 targets. Johnson will provide organizational depth.

Detroit cut Quinn from its practice squad Tuesday.

A little over a week after signing with the Lions' practice team, Quinn is now set to become a free agent again. He last saw regular-season action with Jacksonville in 2020.

Atlanta cut Malone from its practice squad Tuesday, Scott Bair of the Falcons' official site reports.

After acquiring Van Jefferson in a trade with the Rams, Atlanta has decided to part ways with Malone. The undrafted rookie is now set to become a free agent.

Bandy was cut from the Broncos' practice squad Tuesday, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.

Bandy was previously cut from and re-signed to the team's practice squad a week ago. It's not clear if the same thing will happen again once Denver makes other roster moves.

Wilson gathered in one of two targets for 18 yards during Sunday's 34-20 loss to the Bengals.

Despite logging his second-highest snap share (75 percent) of the season, Wilson had the fewest catches and yards in any of his five games as a pro to date. The rookie third-round pick continued to operate as the team's No. 2 WR behind Marquise Brown (91 percent) and ahead of Rondale Moore (67 percent). However, he may have a tough time taking advantage of that usage this Sunday against a Rams defense that has conceded the seventh-fewest yards per catch (7.0) to wide receivers this season.
