Chase Claypool WR | BUF
Steelers' Chase Claypool: Racks up 50 yards in Week 5
Claypool secured five of nine targets for 50 yards during the Steelers' 38-3 loss to the Bills on Sunday.
The Steelers' pass catchers saw plenty of work in Week 5 since the team fell behind early, and Claypool racked up a season-high 50 receiving yards while catching passes from rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett. Claypool's nine targets also marked his highest total of the season. While it was encouraging to see the 2020 second-rounder's production in Week 5, he's been inconsistent early in the year, securing 16 of 29 targets for 129 yards while rushing seven times for 47 yards.
-
Bryan Edwards WR | NO
Falcons' Bryan Edwards: One catch in Week 5
Edwards caught his only target for 10 yards during Sunday's 21-15 defeat versus Tampa Bay.
With Kyle Pitts (hamstring) sidelined, Edwards was active for the first time since Week 2 and caught his only target for 10 yards. Atlanta traded for Edwards this offseason, but he's garnered a minimal role to start his Falcons' tenure. If Pitts remains sidelined moving forward, it's possible Edwards gets more involved as a pass catcher behind Drake London and Olamide Zaccheaus, but Atlanta's offense may struggle again when they face San Francisco in Week 6.
-
Maurice Alexander WR | CHI
Lions' Maurice Alexander: Logs one offensive snap
Alexander logged one offensive snap during Sunday's 29-0 loss to the Patriots.
Alexander has seen a couple of offensive snaps over the past two weeks as Detroit works through injuries at wide receiver, but he is not coming close to becoming part of the offensive game plan.
-
Zay Jones WR | HOU
Jaguars' Zay Jones: Quiet in loss to Texans
Jones secured three of eight targets for 12 yards during Sunday's 13-6 loss to Houston.
Jones returned from a one-game absence due to an ankle issue and played 79 percent of offensive snaps, though he wasn't able to do much with his eight targets. Meanwhile, Marvin Jones put up a season-best seven catches for 104 yards on 11 targets, while usual top wideout Christian Kirk was held to one 11-yard catch on three looks. Zay's volume remains encouraging, as he's seen 19 targets over his last two appearances, but it's been difficult for fantasy managers to predict which of Jacksonville's receivers will produce on a weekly basis given Trevor Lawrence's inconsistency.
-
Kalif Raymond WR | CHI
Lions' Kalif Raymond: Snags five passes
Raymond caught five of seven targets for 45 yards during Sunday's 29-0 loss to New England.
Despite Amon-Ra St. Brown returning for this game, the absences of DJ Chark (ankle) and Quintez Cephus (foot) allowed Raymond to log a new season high in snaps. While he put together a modestly productive fantasy outing in PPR contexts, the 5-foot-8 Raymond didn't do any real damage to a Patriots defense that kept the Lions in their own territory for most of the game. With Chark possibly returning after Detroit's Week 6 bye, Raymond could easily return to seeing limited opportunities.
-
Khadarel Hodge WR | SF
Falcons' KhaDarel Hodge: Solid production in loss
Hodge caught three of five targets for 33 yards during Sunday's 21-15 loss to the Buccaneers. He also secured a two-point conversion.
Hodge finished second on the team in targets and receptions and third on the team in receiving yards while playing the fourth-most snaps among Falcons wideouts. He caught a two-point conversion late in the fourth quarter to cut Tampa Bay's lead to six, but Atlanta got no closer. Hodge caught five of six targets for 95 yards across his first two appearances with the Falcons, but he was held without a catch on one target over the following two games. With Kyle Pitts (hamstring) sidelined though, Hodge bounced back in Week 5 and could see another expanded role in Week 6 if Pitts remains out.
-
Noah Brown WR | LV
Cowboys' Noah Brown: One catch against Rams
Brown caught one of two targets for five yards in a Week 5 win over the Rams.
Michael Gallup was a little more involved in his second game back from a knee injury, hauling in four of five targets to top Brown's output, but the latter still was on the field for 76 percent of the Cowboys' offensive snaps (42 of 55) compared to Gallup's 55 percent (30 snaps). The entire Dallas passing game likely will need to be a lot more involved Week 6 against the Eagles -- Cooper Rush attempted only 16 passes against the Rams, with the defense, running game and special teams all dominating -- so even as the No. 3 option, Brown could see a big increase in volume Sunday night in Philadelphia.
-
Ty Montgomery WR | NE
Patriots' Ty Montgomery: Unlikely to return in Week 6
Montgomery (knee) is not expected to be activated from injured reserve this week, Zack Cox of NESN.com reports.
Montgomery was placed on IR with a right knee injury Sept. 13 following the Patriots' Week 1 loss to the Dolphins, but head coach Bill Belichick doesn't expect the running back to return in Week 6. With Damien Harris (hamstring) potentially unavailable for New England's upcoming matchup with the Browns, Pierre Strong, J.J. Taylor and Kevin Harris could see increased roles behind Rhamondre Stevenson.
-
Romeo Doubs WR | NE
Packers' Romeo Doubs: Momentum slows
Doubs was targeted five times and caught three passes for 29 yards in Sunday's 27-22 loss to the Giants.
Doubs entered Sunday's contest on the heels of back-to-back productive appearances, but outside of a 22-yard reception he did not get much going Week 5. He did finish second among Packers wideouts in snaps for a third straight week, but it should be noted that fellow receiver Randall Cobb closed the gap in percentage of plays spent on the field. Doubs' momentum may have slowed a bit, but all in all, there's still reason to include him in Week 6 fantasy lineups.
-
Brandin Cooks WR | SF
Texans' Brandin Cooks: Subdued output in win
Cooks caught four of six targets for 20 yards in Sunday's 13-6 win over Jacksonville in Week 5.
There wasn't much happening in Houston's passing attack, which led to a season low in targets and yards for Cooks. He's still averaging more than eight targets per game, but the coaches realize there's a better chance to win games by having quarterback Davis Mills hand the ball off to Dameon Pierce. After amassing 22 targets and 136 yards in Weeks 1 and 2, Cooks has seen a total of 20 targets, resulting in 13 catches for 99 yards, the last three weeks.
