  • Chris Godwin WR | TB

Buccaneers' Chris Godwin: Idle for another practice

Godwin (hamstring) wasn't spotted at practice Thursday and is expected to be listed as a non-participant on the Buccaneers' official report, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Godwin's absence from practice for the second day in a row comes as little surprise after he suffered a hamstring strain in Sunday's season-opening win over the Cowboys that is expected to cost him a few weeks, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. Tampa Bay will likely wait until after Friday's practice before officially ruling Godwin out for its Week 2 game in New Orleans, but fantasy managers should already begin the process of finding a replacement for him in weekly lineups. Godwin is one of five Tampa Bay receivers on the Week 2 injury report, though his hamstring strain appears to be more significant than the injuries that Mike Evans (calf), Julio Jones (knee), Russell Gage (hamstring) and Breshad Perriman (knee) are contending with.

  • Michael Gallup WR | WAS

Cowboys' Michael Gallup: On track to miss Week 2 game

Gallup (knee) is slated to practice in pads Thursday, but the wideout isn't scheduled to play in Sunday's game against the Bengals, Clarence E. Hill Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

The Cowboys will likely wait until after Friday's practice to officially rule Gallup out for the Week 2 matchup, but all reports seemingly indicate that the wideout is making good progress in his recovery from the surgery he required in February to repair a torn ACL in his left knee. According to Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News, head coach Mike McCarthy said that Gallup participated in 7-on-7 drills for the first time since suffering the ACL tear Jan. 2, and the 26-year-old will continue to increase the intensity of his workouts in the Cowboys' subsequent practices. That ramp-up process will go into the next week, and if all goes well, Gallup should gain clearance to make his 2022 debut in a Monday night game Sept. 26 versus the Giants.

  • Cardinals' Andy Isabella: Absent again Thursday

Isabella (back) is not practicing Thursday, Jose M. Romero of The Arizona Republic reports.

Isabella could be facing increased opportunities if he manages to suit up against the Raiders in Week 2, with Rondale Moore (hamstring) not practicing and DeAndre Hopkins (suspension) still absent. However, unless he can significantly upgrade his status Friday, it looks like Isabella is trending in the wrong direction.

  • Mike Evans WR | SF

Buccaneers' Mike Evans: Not seen at practice

Evans (calf) wasn't on the field for the media-access portion of Thursday's practice, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

In addition to Evans, Chris Godwin (hamstring) and Julio Jones (knee) were also absent from practice, an indication that all three receivers will be listed as non-participants on Thursday's report. Godwin is already presumed to be unavailable for Sunday's game in New Orleans, but the statuses of Evans and Jones are murkier and could be determined by what either wideout is able to do in the team's final practice of the week Friday. On a positive note, Russell Gage -- who missed Wednesday's practice with a hamstring injury -- was back on the field Thursday.

  • Rondale Moore WR | MIN

Cardinals' Rondale Moore: Not practicing again

Moore (hamstring) isn't participating in Thursday's practice, Jose M. Romero of The Arizona Republic reports.

He'll be listed as a non-participant in practice for the second day in a row, which doesn't bode well for Moore's early chances of avoiding a second straight placement on the inactive list to begin the season. Meanwhile, depth wideout Andy Isabella (back) was also sidelined for a second straight practice Thursday, so if both he and Moore aren't available Sunday versus the Raiders, the Cardinals could have to turn to Andre Baccellia or depth tight end Stephen Anderson to log more reps at receiver behind Marquise Brown, A.J. Green and Greg Dortch.

  • Van Jefferson WR | WAS

Rams' Van Jefferson: Sits out practice Wednesday

Jefferson (knee) didn't practice Wednesday, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports.

Jefferson remains in recovery mode due to a pair of procedures performed on his left knee, one from after the Rams' win in the Super Bowl and another in early August. Both were termed "minor" surgeries, but he still hasn't been able to get back on the field. Head coach Sean McVay told Barshop earlier Wednesday that the team is taking it "a week at a time" with Jefferson's rehab, so another absence to begin the campaign could be in the cards Sunday against the Falcons. If Jefferson is inactive Week 2, Ben Skowronek and, to a lesser extent, Tutu Atwell will be the next two wide receivers behind top options Cooper Kupp and Allen Robinson.

  • Cardinals' Andy Isabella: No practice reps Wednesday

Isabella (back) didn't practice Wednesday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.

In a Cardinals receiving corps without DeAndre Hopkins (suspension), Antoine Wesley (hip, IR) and Rondale Moore (hamstring) in Sunday's season opener against the Chiefs, Isabella logged 21 of 65 (32 percent) of the offensive snaps on his way to one catch (on three targets) for 10 yards. Now, Isabella is dealing with an injury himself, potentially threatening his availability for Week 2 action in Las Vegas.

  • Rondale Moore WR | MIN

Cardinals' Rondale Moore: Sits out Wednesday

Moore (hamstring) was held out of practice Wednesday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.

On Monday, head coach Kliff Kingsbury told Jose M. Romero of The Arizona Republic that Moore was "pretty much day-to-day at this point," but the second-year wide receiver has yet to log a practice rep since making an early exit from last Thursday's session due to a hamstring injury. Once he gets back on the field, Moore will have an opportunity to fill in in a receiving corps that's without DeAndre Hopkins (suspension) for the first six games of the season.

  • Van Jefferson WR | WAS

Rams' Van Jefferson: May not be back for Week 2

Head coach Sean McVay said Wednesday that the Rams are taking it "a week at a time" with Jefferson's knee injury, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports.

The comment is less than encouraging for Jefferson's chances of suiting up Sunday against the Falcons, though prior reports have suggested that the receiver will likely miss the first two games of the season. Ben Skowronek filled in as the No. 3 receiver in a Week 1 loss to Buffalo, catching four of six targets for 25 yards while playing 88 percent of the snaps on offense.

  • Willie Snead WR | MIA

Willie Snead: Returns to 49ers' practice squad

The 49ers signed Snead to their practice squad Wednesday.

Snead originally signed a one-year deal with the 49ers at the beginning of August, but he was released ahead of the 53-man roster deadline. The veteran wideout then returned to the organization via a practice-squad deal a day later but was let go again last week. However, Snead has since returned to San Fransisco's practice squad and will look to carve out a role in an unproven wideout room. Across his seven-year career, Snead has caught 279 passes for 3,431 yards and 16 touchdowns, but he was unproductive last year during stints with Carolina and Las Vegas.
