Khalil Shakir WR | BUF
Bills' Khalil Shakir: Shines in pro debut
Shakir caught all five of his targets for 92 yards in Saturday's preseason win over the Colts on Saturday.
The fifth-round rookie has shined throughout summer work, and that carried right over into preseason action. The Bills' top two wideouts are set between Stefon Diggs and Gabriel Davis while one of Isaiah McKenzie and Jamison Crowder will be the main slot guy, but there's room for 1-to-2 more guys to make the Week 1 roster, and Shakir looks to be heavily in that mix. Nonetheless, as many predicted in April, it looks like the Bills may have gotten a bit of a steal in Round 5.

Lance McCutcheon WR | TEN
Rams' Lance McCutcheon: Breaks out with two TDs
McCutcheon caught five of six targets for 87 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday's 29-22 victory over the Chargers. He also added a two-point conversion reception.
Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic noted that McCutcheon has been soaking up knowledge from Cooper Kupp and Allen Robinson in meeting rooms, and the undrafted free agent put that to good use Saturday. Bryce Perkins hit McCutcheon on the left sideline in the second quarter, and McCutcheon put on the burners and juked safety JT Woods to notch a 60-yard touchdown. McCutcheon added an 11-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter to put the Rams up for good. While a roster spot may still be tough to find with a talented group of receivers in front of him, McCutcheon's stock is certainly trending up with this performance.

Phillip Dorsett WR | LV
Texans' Phillip Dorsett: Two catches Saturday
Dorsett caught two of three targets for 18 yards in Saturday's 17-13 preseason win over the Saints.
Dorsett played 21 snaps, all in the first half, and appears ticketed for a spot among the team's top five wide receivers. Houston's leading options at the position (Brandin Cooks and Nico Collins) did not play, which gave plenty of opportunities for those further down the depth chart. After those two, some order of Dorsett, Chris Conley and Chris Moore should follow. If the Texans carry six wideouts, players like Jalen Camp (four targets, two catches, 53 yards, one TD) or Connor Wedington (three targets, two catches, five yards) could make the final roster.

Kadarius Toney WR | CLE
Giants' Kadarius Toney: Not expected to practice this week
Coach Brian Daboll said Sunday that Toney (hamstring) isn't expected to practice this week, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
Toney reportedly suffered the injury during a practice last week and was ruled out for Thursday's preseason game against the Patriots. It appears the Giants will remain cautious with the 2021 first-round pick and keep him sidelined for next Sunday's exhibition game against the Bengals, though the report does note that Toney will have an outside shot at returning to practice before the week is over.

DeVonta Smith WR | PHI
Eagles' DeVonta Smith: Returns to practice Sunday
Smith (groin) returned to practice Sunday, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Smith picked up the groin injury late last week and ultimately was sidelined for the Eagles' preseason opener after missing a few practices in a row. However, as expected, the issue wasn't severe, and the second-year wideout appears on track to suit up for Sunday's exhibition game against the Browns.

Jalen Camp WR | CLE
Texans' Jalen Camp: Gets reps in preseason opener
Camp caught two of four targets for 53 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 17-13 preseason win over New Orleans.
Camp scored Houston's first touchdown, a four-yard reception late in the first quarter, then caught a 49-yard bomb in the fourth quarter during a two-minute drill to set up the game-winning score. He's on the roster bubble, but due to John Metchie's illness, Camp is in the mix for a final wideout spot. Per a roster projection from Brooks Kubena of the Houston Chronicle, the 6-foot-2 Camp has stood out during practice drills with size and has broken at least two catches for long touchdowns.

Equanimeous St. Brown WR | SF
Bears' Equanimeous St. Brown: One touch in victory
St. Brown had an eight-yard run in the Bears' 19-14 win over the Chiefs on Satruday.
St. Brown has drawn praise for his red-zone ability in August practices, but he had a minor role in his first preseason game with his new team. It seems as if he's competing for a depth role behind Darnell Mooney, Byron Pringle (quadriceps) and Velus Jones (undisclosed).
-
Dante Pettis WR | BUF
Bears' Dante Pettis: Produces big play
Pettis caught his only target for 25 yards in Chicago's 19-14 victory over the Chiefs on Saturday.
Pettis is battling for a depth role among the Bears' wide receivers, and his performance helped him have a solid start in this competition. He'll likely continue to compete for a roster spot over the final two preseason games.
-
Dazz Newsome WR | SF
Bears' Dazz Newsome: Finds end zone
Newsome caught a 13-yard touchdown pass and had one carry for 13 yards in the Bears' 19-14 win over the Chiefs on Saturday.
Newsome scored in the second half when the Bears were playing their reserves. He'll be continuing to battle for a depth role in Chicago's wide receiver group over the next two preseason games.
-
Joe Reed WR | CHI
Chargers' Joe Reed: Makes impact in preseason opener
Reed secured four of five targets for 61 yards and a touchdown and returned three kickoffs for 60 yards in the Chargers' 29-22 preseason loss to the Rams on Saturday night.
The 2020 fifth-round pick was second in receptions and receiving yards for the Chargers on the night, opening the scoring on a 41-yard touchdown grab early in the first quarter. Reed has yet to record a regular-season reception and spent the entirety of last season on the practice squad injured list, but he could make a case to stick as a No. 5 or No. 6 receiver and kickoff returner with a strong enough preseason.
