  • Garrett Wilson WR | NYJ

Jets' Garrett Wilson: Goes 10th overall to New York

The Jets selected Wilson in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 10th overall.

Wilson (6-foot, 183 pounds) was a highly productive receiver at Ohio State, where he produced 143 receptions for 2,213 yards and 23 touchdowns on 207 career targets (69.1 percent caught, 10.7 yards per target). While his light frame might limit him somewhat in heavier traffic, Wilson's athleticism and skill set should play well from any receiver position and at any depth of the field. His 4.38-second combine 40-yard dash time adds further credibility to the burst that's so apparent in his game tape, so he should prove a noteworthy big-play threat at receiver from Day 1 for the Jets. The question is how quickly he can get up to speed and compete for targets against a competent group of pass catchers in Elijah Moore, Corey Davis, Braxton Berrios and two noteworthy free agent signings at tight end.

  • Deebo Samuel WR | SF

49ers' Deebo Samuel: No plans for a trade, per Lynch

GM John Lynch indicated Monday that the 49ers don't intend to trade Samuel, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports. "I can't ever imagine wanting to move on from Deebo," Lynch noted during his pre-draft press conference Monday, adding that Samuel is "just too good of a player."

Lynch's comments arrive in the wake of reports that Samuel -- who is approaching the final year of his rookie contract -- would like to be traded by San Francisco. Though Lynch didn't go into details, he did relay that he's had discussions with the versatile wideout, who's in line to land a lucrative second NFL contract regardless of how things get resolved between him and the 49ers. In any case, it's clear that the team would prefer to work things out with Samuel, but until or unless the 2019 second-rounder changes his reported stance regarding his desire to play elsewhere, there figures to be plenty of speculation regarding his status as the 2022 season approaches.

  • Curtis Samuel WR | BUF

Commanders' Curtis Samuel: Looks 'really good' during workouts

Commanders head coach Ron Rivera said Monday that Samuel (hamstring) looks "really good" during workouts so far, Pete Hailey of NBC Sports Washington reports.

Samuel signed a three-year, $34.5 million contract ahead of the 2021 campaign, but he battled a lingering groin injury from the summer through the fall and later added a hamstring issue after a brief return to action Weeks 12-14. In total, he played 84 offensive snaps across five games, catching six of nine targets for 27 yards while rushing four times for 11 yards during his first campaign with Washington. After an injury-plagued start to his Commanders career, it appears the 25-year-old wideout could be healthy to start the 2022 campaign. It's important to note that Washington hasn't done any football activities yet during its voluntary offseason workouts, but Rivera said he's received positive news from trainers and added, "When you see him moving around, you feel pretty confident about him."

  • Terry McLaurin WR | WAS

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: Contract talks ongoing

Washington general manager Martin Mayhew said Monday that the organization is in ongoing talks with McLaurin and his agent about a possible contract extension, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.

McLaurin currently is with the team, but he isn't participating in any voluntary on-field workouts this offseason. Mandatory minicamp doesn't start until mid-June, so the two sides have some time to figure out a deal, but it's possible the wideout could continue to hold out until an extension is signed. The acquisition of Carson Wentz -- who's owed $28 million in 2022 -- has hindered Washington's moves and likely has been at least part of the reason McLaurin hasn't signed an extension yet. Regardless, Mayhew said, "We're really excited about the opportunity of having Terry continue with us for a long time," so it appears there are no intentions of trading the fourth-year wideout ahead of the draft. Commanders head coach Ron Rivera added that the team's draft process won't be impacted by McLaurin's ongoing situation.

  • Kadarius Toney WR | CLE

Giants' Kadarius Toney: Joins voluntary workouts

Toney (shoulder) was present for Monday's voluntary workout, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.

Per Ralph Vacchiano of SportsNet New York, it's unclear if that was the original plan for Toney (who wasn't present for start of the team's voluntary offseason workouts last week), or if recent trade rumors may have factored into the wideout's decision to join in. With that in mind, Vacchiano adds that he's been told the Giants weren't actively shopping the 2021 first-rounder. Instead, Vacchiano indicates that the team has been willing to listen if other franchises called about the 23-year-old, though that approach applies to other players as well. In any case, Vacchiano notes that it doesn't appear that New York is inclined to sell low on a player that was drafted 20th overall just last year.

  • Byron Pringle WR | WAS

Bears' Byron Pringle: Arrested in traffic incident

Pringle was arrested in Florida on Saturday and charged with reckless driving and driving with a suspended license, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports.

Pringle, who joined the Bears on a one-year, $4.125 million deal earlier this offseason, was pulled over by Florida Highway Patrol after he was allegedly doing donuts with his vehicle on a public road, according to the police report. It's unclear if Pringle will face any discipline from the league as a result of the incident, but any decision on that front likely wouldn't be made until the legal process concludes. With the Bears losing Allen Robinson in free agency, Pringle is projected to slot in as a starting receiver for Chicago after setting career-high marks across the board in 2021 with 42 receptions, 568 receiving yards and five touchdowns.

  • Kadarius Toney WR | CLE

Giants' Kadarius Toney: Could be moved

Pat Leonard New York Daily News indicates that the Giants are open to trading Toney (shoulder).

The report suggests that the Giants are making calls to other teams to see what they can get in return for the 2021 first-rounder, who wasn't present for start of the team's voluntary offseason workouts earlier this week. In his first pro season, Toney -- who was projected to add some speed and yards-after-the-catch ability to New York's offense -- dealt with a variety of injuries en route to catching 39 passes on 57 targets for 420 yards and no TDs in 10 games.

  • DJ Chark WR | ATL

Lions' DJ Chark: Catching passes from Goff

Chark recently joined Jared Goff for a throwing session in California, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Chark missed most of last season after fracturing his ankle in Week 4. While it's not perfectly clear where he stands in his recovery, head coach Dan Campbell said the Lions expect nearly perfect attendance for the start of offseason workouts, and Chark's ability to catch passes from Goff in recent weeks demonstrates that the wideout is not starting the offseason on the sidelines.

  • Eagles' J.J. Arcega-Whiteside: Shifting to tight end

Arcega-Whiteside is moving from wide receiver to tight end this offseason, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

The 2019 second-round pick has struggled to find his footing as a pro, tallying only 16 receptions for 290 yards combined across three seasons. Given the lack of production, Arcega-Whiteside -- who is presumably past the finger injury he dealt with late last season -- was likely to be on the roster bubble heading into the 2022 campaign. While that could remain the case, Arcega-Whiteside may find a spot on the team as a depth option at tight end, particularly with Tyree Jackson attempting to return from a torn ACL.

  • David Moore WR | CAR

Bears' David Moore: Signs with Chicago

Moore has signed with the Bears.

Moore will join Chicago after previously participating in the team's voluntary minicamp as a tryout player this past week. The 2017 seventh-round pick appeared in three total games while playing with the Broncos and Packers in 2021 and is coming off his first season without recording a reception since his rookie campaign. These poor results may be somewhat of an outlier for Moore however, as the 27-year-old hauled in 78 passes for 1,163 yards and 13 touchdowns over 46 games with the Seahawks from 2018 to 2020. This coming season he'll look to carve out a role in a Bears wideout corps that also includes Darnell Mooney, Byron Pringle and Equanimeous St. Brown.
