Chris Conley WR | SF
Texans' Chris Conley: Limited on Wednesday's estimate
Conley (knee) was listed as limited on Wednesday's practice estimate.
Take this designation with a grain of salt, since the Texans merely held a walkthrough. Conley's name has frequently appeared on injury reports due to this knee injury, but it hasn't caused him to miss game action. With Davis Mills playing well under center for Houston, Conley will have some appeal as a flier in deeper formats against the 49ers in Week 17, assuming he suits up. Conley scored his second touchdown of the year in last week's win over the Chargers.
-
Trinity Benson WR | CLE
Lions' Trinity Benson: Reinstated from COVID list
Benson was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday.
With Josh Reynolds (illness) still in COVID protocols, Benson could find himself active in Week 17 against the Seahawks as a depth piece at wide receiver. Benson has frequently been a healthy scratch of late, last seeing the field in Week 10.
-
Rondale Moore WR | MIN
Cardinals' Rondale Moore: No activity Wednesday
Moore (ankle) was a non-participant at practice Wednesday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Since injuring his ankle during a Week 15 defeat at Detroit, Moore hasn't practiced. And for a second week in a row, coach Kliff Kingsbury is calling Moore a game-time decision for Sunday's contest in Dallas, per Urban. Moore wasn't able to suit up this past Saturday versus the Colts following the first declaration, so his prospects to play remain cloudy.
-
Jakeem Grant WR | ATL
Bears' Jakeem Grant: Starts week with full practice
Grant (concussion) practiced fully Wednesday.
Grant's full participation in practice is certainly an encouraging sign after he missed last week's game due to a concussion he sustained in Week 15 against Minnesota. There hasn't been official confirmation of Grant clearing the NFL's concussion protocol, but Grant certainly has a chance of suiting up Sunday against the Giants and reclaiming his roles as a depth receiver on offense and a return man on special teams.
-
Chris Moore WR | BAL
Texans' Chris Moore: Moved to COVID-19 list
Houston placed Moore on the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday after he tested positive for the virus.
Even if he returns in short order, Moore likely will be buried on the depth chart after two other Houston receivers (including Brandin Cooks) were activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday.
-
Phillip Dorsett WR | LV
Texans' Phillip Dorsett: Lands on IR
The Texans placed Dorsett (foot) on injured reserve Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.
As expected, Dorsett will miss the final two games of the regular season after injuring his foot in the Texans' Week 16 win over the Chargers. The 2015 first-round pick will end his 2021 campaign with seven catches for 110 yards across six appearances with three different teams. However, the majority of that production (three catches and 55 yards) came during the game in which he got injured. Dorsett isn't expected to need surgery, so he should be fully healthy for the start of OTAs in the spring.
-
Jalen Guyton WR | LV
Chargers' Jalen Guyton: Activated from COVID-19 list
The Chargers activated Guyton (illness) from the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday.
Guyton wasn't available during last week's loss to Houston, but he's been cleared with plenty of time to spare before Sunday's game against the Broncos. Mike Williams remains on the reserve/COVID-19 list, and while there's still a solid chance Williams returns this week as well, for now, Guyton tentatively slots in as the No. 2 wide receiver behind Keenan Allen.
-
Marquez Valdes-Scantling WR | LAC
Packers' Marquez Valdes-Scantling: Off COVID-19 list
The Packers activated Valdes-Scantling (illness) from the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, Doug Kyed of Pro Football Focus reports.
Valdes-Scantling sat out the Packers' Week 16 win against the Browns after testing positive for the virus last Tuesday, marking his sixth absence of the campaign. Per usual, his production has been sporadic on a weekly basis when available, with a respectable 25-427-3 receiving line on 51 targets in nine appearances. Valdes-Scantling will rejoin Allen Lazard as the co-No. 2s behind top wide receiver Davante Adams.
-
Brandin Cooks WR | SF
Texans' Brandin Cooks: Comes off COVID list
Houston activated Cooks (illness) from the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.
Cooks was spotted on the field at practice earlier Wednesday, which foreshadowed his return from the list. Now that he's officially back on the 53-man roster, Cooks is poised to serve as Houston's No. 1 receiver Sunday against the 49ers. Between his previous two games working with quarterback Davis Mills, Cooks put together a 15-203-2 receiving line on 21 targets.
-
Tim Patrick WR | NYJ
Broncos' Tim Patrick: Placed on COVID list, likely out
Patrick (illness) was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday and isn't expected to play this Sunday against the Chargers, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official website reports.
Assuming Courtland Sutton and Jerry Jeudy make it through the week healthy, the Broncos have Diontae Spencer and Kendall Hinton as options for the No. 3 receiver role. The possibility also exists that Denver hands more playing time to talented backup tight end Albert Okwuegbunam behind starter Noah Fant. Patrick might technically have a shot to return by Sunday, but Broncos head coach Vic Fangio doesn't expect that to happen.
