Nelson Agholor WR | BAL
Patriots' Nelson Agholor: Leading receiver in win
Agholor caught three of six targets for 60 yards in Sunday's 27-24 win over the Chargers.
Jakobi Meyers and Kendrick Bourne caught more passes (four each), but Agholor led the Pats in receiving yards on the afternoon thanks largely to a 44-yard grab in the first quarter that set up New England's first TD. Agholor has caught no more than three passes in seven straight games, giving him limited upside heading into a Week 9 tilt against the Panthers.

Keenan Allen WR | IND
Chargers' Keenan Allen: Leading receiver in loss
Allen snared six of his 11 targets for 77 yards and a touchdown in the 27-24 loss to the Patriots on Sunday.
It's at least reassuring for fantasy managers Allen can survive a poor outing offensively from the Chargers, as the veteran receiver caught five passes for 50 yards in the demoralizing Week 6 drubbing by the Ravens before a similarly lackluster team performance Sunday. The Patriots' run-heavy approach seemed to discombobulate the Chargers' rhythm as quarterback Justin Herbert completed only 51 percent of his pass attempts, but the confusion seemed to impact Mike Williams (two catches for 19 yards on five attempts) far more than the ever-reliable Allen. It'll be interesting to see if the offense will become more efficient in what figures to be a favorable matchup next week against the Eagles.
-
Tyler Lockett WR | LV
Seahawks' Tyler Lockett: Pops off for 142 yards
Lockett caught 12 of 13 targets for 142 yards in Sunday's 31-7 win over the Jaguars.
Lockett caught 17 passes for 159 yards over the previous five games, and he finally broke out of his slump with conviction in the team's first win with Geno Smith under center. The Seahawks are on bye next week and will return in Week 10 against the Packers. Lockett has been so boom-or-bust this season that it's tough to predict his big games, but it would certainly help his odds if Russell Wilson (finger) is back under center. Wilson is optimistic he'll return in Week 10, but he'll need to hit a few milestones first. Lockett will be a high-upside play regardless.
-
Jamal Agnew WR | ATL
Jaguars' Jamal Agnew: Scores in garbage time
Agnew caught six receptions for 38 yards and one touchdown on 12 targets against Seattle on Sunday.
The garbage-time touchdown made Agnew useful for fantasy investors in the 31-7 loss, but six catches for 38 yards on 12 targets is dreadfully inefficient and casts a cloud over the otherwise encouraging target volume. Agnew has been busy in Jacksonville's offense since DJ Chark's season-ending injury, which led to Laviska Shenault shifting to the outside and allowed Agnew to take over in the slot. Shenault is a bad fit outside because he lacks the speed to separate on the boundary, and the funnel away from Shenault has been to the benefit of Agnew, who's seen 25 targets in his last three games, leading to him recording 17 receptions for 157 yards and one touchdown. Agnew could provide cheap PPR utility going forward if he can maintain that target volume, but if the Jaguars revisit their wideout rotation and move Shenault back into the slot, then such a move might come at the expense of Agnew. The Jaguars play Buffalo in Week 9.
-
DK Metcalf WR | PIT
Seahawks' DK Metcalf: Scores twice in win
Metcalf caught all six of his targets for 43 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 31-7 win over the Jaguars.
While Tyler Lockett was the focal point of Geno Smith's passing attack with 12 catches for 142 yards, Metcalf managed to cash in with two touchdowns (one in each half). The third-year wideout didn't have a reception of more than 16 yards, as his average depth of target has taken a severe hit with Smith under center. That could change soon, though, as Russell Wilson (finger) is optimistic that he'll be back after the bye week for a Week 10 road matchup versus the Packers. Even if Wilson is unable to return, it's at least a positive sign that Smith trusts Metcalf with contested passes at this point.
-
Chris Godwin WR | TB
Buccaneers' Chris Godwin: Big receiving day in loss
Godwin brought in eight of 12 targets for 140 yards and a touchdown in the Buccaneers' 36-27 loss to the Saints on Sunday.
With Mike Evans having a troubled history against Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore, Brady leaned heavier on Godwin than any other pass catcher, leading to a momentous day for the fifth-year wideout. Godwin's receiving yardage total was a season high, while his targets fell just short of equaling the 13 he logged in the opener versus Dallas. While the wealth of talent on Tampa Bay's pass-catching corps will continue to lead to some quiet weeks for Godwin, he encouragingly heads into the Week 9 bye with back-to-back eight-catch, 100-yard efforts.
-
Marvin Jones WR | DET
Jaguars' Marvin Jones: Ineffective Sunday
Jones caught five receptions for 35 yards on seven targets against Seattle on Sunday.
Jones committed a painful drop on a play that would have given Jacksonville a third-down conversion, but the Jaguars had so many problems that Jones wasn't particularly high on the list of reasons why they were lit up 31-7 by a mediocre Seattle roster. Even if he's absolved of that failure, the fact is the Jaguars appear too dysfunctional for Jones to provide consistent returns for his fantasy investors. A big game like in Week 6 against Miami (seven catches for 100 yards and one touchdown on 10 targets) is still possible from Jones, but it's getting more difficult to foresee his better moments. A brutal matchup with Buffalo awaits in Week 9.
-
Elijah Moore WR | PHI
Jets' Elijah Moore: Career-high six catches in win
Moore caught all six of his targets for 67 yards and added a four-yard rush in Sunday's 34-31 win over the Bengals.
Moore set career highs in catches and receiving yards, aided by the strong quarterback play of Mike White, who threw for 405 yards in his first career start. With White set to make another start Thursday against the Colts and top wide receiver Corey Davis fighting an uphill battle to return from the hip injury that kept him sidelined against Cincinnati, Moore could have a nice opportunity to build on this breakout effort in Week 9.
-
Zach Pascal WR | NYG
Colts' Zach Pascal: Five-catch effort in OT loss
Pascal secured five of eight targets for 43 yards in the Colts' 34-31 overtime loss to the Titans on Sunday.
Pascal turned in one of his trademark workmanlike efforts and checked in second on the team in receptions. The possession receiver's production represented a modest but welcome resurgence after he been held to a pair of three-catch efforts and zero receptions once over the prior three games. With T.Y. Hilton possibly suffering a concussion late in Sunday's game, Pascal could have a prominent role in the Thursday night Week 9 battle against the Jets.

Jaylen Waddle WR | DEN
Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Held to four grabs Sunday
Waddle brought in four of 12 targets for 29 yards in the Dolphins' 26-11 loss to the Bills on Sunday. He also returned two punts for 25 yards.
The rookie was highly inefficient on a day when he logged the second-highest number of targets of his young career. Waddle had encouragingly recorded 17 receptions over the last two games on 21 targets, so the constant failure to connect with Tua Tagovailoa on Sunday was particularly alarming yet also largely explained by the elite Bills secondary. Waddle will aim for a significant turnaround in his numbers Week 9 against the visiting Texans.
