Quez Watkins WR | IND
Eagles' Quez Watkins: Hauls in both targets
Watkins caught each of his two targets for 18 yards in Sunday's 44-6 win over the Lions.
Watkins has two or three catches in every game this season and continued that streak Sunday. He may see increased attention if Jalen Reagor (ankle) needs to miss time, however.
-
Chase Claypool WR | BUF
Steelers' Chase Claypool: Catches four passes
Claypool caught four of five targets for 45 yards and had two carries for 16 yards during Sunday's 15-10 win at Cleveland.
Claypool had only two catches for 17 yards on seven targets in Week 6, but he showed a better rapport with QB Ben Roethlisberger coming out of the bye week. Still, it was another modest showing for the young wideout, who hasn't been a significant factor in the passing game since catching five passes for 130 yards and a score in Week 5. Claypool will attempt to bounce back next weekend versus Chicago.
-
Jamison Crowder WR | WAS
Jets' Jamison Crowder: Eight catches in Week 8 win
Crowder caught eight of nine targets for 84 yards, threw a two-point conversion and lost a fumble in Sunday's 34-31 win over the Bengals.
Crowder was New York's top available wide receiver with Corey Davis (hip) out, and backup quarterback Mike White targeted him frequently, as Crowder finished second behind running back Michael Carter in targets, catches and receiving yards. The slot receiver's longest gain of the game went for 26 yards, but the ball came out at the end and was recovered by Cincinnati's defense. Crowder didn't get into the end zone, but he helped New York score the game's final two points by delivering a back shoulder fade to White for a treat of a two-point conversion on a Halloween trick play. White threw for 405 yards in his first NFL start, so Crowder's significant role in the Jets' passing attack will make him an option worth considering in Week 9 against the Colts, especially in PPR formats.
-
Michael Pittman WR | PIT
Colts' Michael Pittman: Pair of touchdowns in big effort
Pittman brought in 10 of 15 targets for 86 yards and two touchdowns in the Colts' 34-31 overtime loss to the Titans on Sunday.
Pittman played his possession receiver role to perfection, but he recorded a team-high 38-yard grab along the way. The surging second-year wideout notched his third and fourth touchdown receptions as well, posting two- and seven-yard scoring catches in the first quarter. Pittman also delivered his second 100-yard effort of the season in Week 7, so the USC product's stock is very high heading into a Week 9 home matchup versus the Jets on Thursday night, especially with fellow wideout T.Y. Hilton facing an uphill battle to play after sustaining a possible concussion Sunday.
-
DeVonta Smith WR | PHI
Eagles' DeVonta Smith: Just three targets in win
Smith caught one of three targets for 15 yards in Sunday's 44-6 win over Detroit.
Smith had just one target in the first half. The Eagles hardly needed to pass in the blowout and mostly played it safe when they did. With what should be a much more competitive Week 9 matchup with the Chargers, the rookie first-round pick should see a more customary allotment of targets.
-
Brandon Aiyuk WR | SF
49ers' Brandon Aiyuk: Season-high 45 yards
Aiyuk had four receptions (seven targets) for 45 yards in Sunday's 33-22 win over the Bears.
Aiyuk turned in his best performance of the season in Week 8, which is more of a testament of how poorly the 2020 first-round pick has performed this year, as opposed to a sign of things to come. With George Kittle (calf) targeting a Week 9 return, Aiyuk may see his targets reduced even further after setting a new season high of seven against Chicago. Aiyuk showed flashes of fantasy upside in his rookie campaign, so managers shouldn't write him off completely, but we need to see several weeks of useful production before recommending the wideout.
-
Tee Higgins WR | CIN
Bengals' Tee Higgins: Just shy of century mark in loss
Higgins caught four of six targets for 97 yards in Sunday's 34-31 loss to the Jets.
Higgins got lucky on a 26-yard catch down to New York's two-yard line in the second quarter, as the ball appeared to hit the ground but the Bengals got the next play off before the Jets could challenge. There was no doubt about his 54-yard gain in the third quarter. Both plays set up touchdowns, which were scored by Ja'Marr Chase and Joe Mixon, respectively. Higgins opened the season with a two-game touchdown streak but hasn't found the end zone since. He'll look to regain his scoring touch in Week 9 against the Browns.
-
Nico Collins WR | HOU
Texans' Nico Collins: Makes four receptions
Collins caught four passes for 55 yards on four targets against the Rams on Sunday.
Collins was very efficient with his four targets and his 55 yards were the second highest on the team behind WR1 Brandin Cooks (six receptions for 83 yards and one touchdown on six targets), but it would have been nice to see him get more opportunity when Davis Mills put up 39 pass attempts. Still, the rookie third-round pick is quietly playing well over the last three weeks, catching 10 of 15 targets in that span for 127 yards. He's making a credible push for the WR2 role behind Cooks, but Collins still needs to shake Chris Conley and Danny Amendola to establish himself to that extent.
-
Cole Beasley WR | NYG
Bills' Cole Beasley: Prolific receiving day in win
Beasley secured 10 of 13 targets for 110 yards in the Bills' 26-11 win over the Dolphins on Sunday.
On a day when the Bills' normally potent passing attack largely was muted for three quarters, Beasley managed to cobble together an outstanding fantasy performance, especially from a PPR perspective. His yardage total was a season high, while his reception tally was his second best of the campaign. Despite the stellar numbers Sunday, Beasley's fantasy managers know all too well how volatile his production has been -- he also has two- and one-catch efforts in his last four games -- so he'll still have at least some element of risk attached despite the highly favorable Week 9 road matchup against the Jaguars.
-
Marquise Goodwin WR | CLE
Bears' Marquise Goodwin: Best game since Week 1
Goodwin caught two passes for 32 yards in the Bears' 33-22 loss to the 49ers on Sunday.
Goodwin has now caught two passes in back-to-back games while averaging 20 yards over his last three contests. Although he hasn't shown tangible upside, he could continue to see his recent usage trend continue as the third option in the Chicago passing attack.
