  • Cam Sims WR | CAR

Football Team's Cam Sims: Not practicing Wednesday

Sims (hamstring) didn't practice Wednesday, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.

Sims, Curtis Samuel (groin) and Dyami Brown (knee) all didn't practice Wednesday, so it'll be important for fantasy managers to monitor their practice status throughout the week. Terry McLaurin and Adam Humphries are currently Washington's top two wideouts, but they will need all hands on deck when they face the Saints on Sunday.

  • Dyami Brown WR | WAS

Football Team's Dyami Brown: Misses practice with knee injury

Brown (knee) isn't practicing Wednesday, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.

Brown and Cam Sims (hamstring) both suffered injuries in the second half of the Week 4 win over Atlanta, which also happened to be Curtis Samuel's first game in a Washington uniform. Even if he returns to health quickly, Brown may be the team's fourth or fifth wide receiver at this point.

  • Elijah Moore WR | PHI

Jets' Elijah Moore: Cleared to practice

Moore will practice Wednesday after clearing the NFL's five-step concussion protocol, Ralph Vacchiano of SportsNet New York reports.

Moore should be a full participant in Wednesday's session and is thus trending toward returning to the Jets' lineup Sunday against the Falcons. If that's the case, he'll be competing with Keelan Cole for the third receiver role, with Corey Davis and Jamison Crowder seemingly locked in as the Jets' top two wideouts.

  • Darius Slayton WR | IND

Giants' Darius Slayton: Misses practice, but progressing

Slayton (hamstring) didn't practice Wednesday, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.

Slayton and Sterling Shepard, both dealing with hamstring injuries, were at least able to do side-field work during Wednesday's practice, perhaps taking a step forward in the recovery process. Still, they're both in danger of missing a second straight game Sunday against the Cowboys, potentially giving Kadarius Toney and John Ross another shot to strut their stuff in top-three roles.

  • Giants' Sterling Shepard: Limited to side work

Shepard (hamstring) didn't practice Wednesday, but he was able to do some work on a side field, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.

The same goes for Darius Slayton, who also missed Week 4 after suffering a hamstring injury Week 3. Fellow wideouts Kenny Golladay and Kadarius Toney responded with their best games of the season in an overtime win over the Saints, with John Ross adding a 51-yard touchdown as the No. 3 receiver (four targets, 44 percent snap share). Shepard and Slayton seem to be making progress, but it isn't clear if either has a real shot to make it back for Sunday's big game against the Cowboys.

  • Curtis Samuel WR | BUF

Football Team's Curtis Samuel: Absent from practice

Samuel isn't practicing Wednesday, Sam Fortier of The Washington Post reports.

Samuel's absence to begin the week is somewhat concerning after he returned from a groin injury to make his Washington debut in Sunday's 34-30 win over Atlanta, catching each of his four targets for 19 yards while playing 37 percent of offensive snaps. With fellow wideouts Dyami Brown (knee) and Cam Sims (hamstring) coming out of that game nursing injuries, Washington could really use a full-strength Samuel in the lineup for Week 5 against the Saints.

  • DeVante Parker WR | PHI

Dolphins' DeVante Parker: Increased targets may be on tap

Parker could see an increased role on offense after the Dolphins placed fellow wideout Will Fuller (finger) on injured reserve Wednesday.

Parker is coming off his best game of the season, having put up a 4-77-1 stat line on nine targets against the Colts in Week 4. The veteran hasn't seen fewer than seven targets in a single game this season, and with Fuller now destined to miss at least three weeks, Parker's volume should remain stable, if not increase. Even so, it's still not exactly easy to trust Parker or fellow starter Jaylen Waddle as weekly fantasy contributors with Jacoby Brissett still under center for at least the Dolphins' Week 5 game in Tampa Bay.

  • Jaylen Waddle WR | DEN

Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Could see more work

Waddle could be in line for increased offensive usage with Will Fuller (finger) bound for injured reserve, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

Waddle has handled a starting role in Miami's offense since Week 1, but he only played alongside Fuller for the past two weeks. With Fuller headed to IR, the Dolphins will now have to wait at least three more games before getting a good sample of what their scheme looks like with all of Waddle, Fuller and DeVante Parker healthy simultaneously. In the meantime, Waddle and Parker will continue to operate as the clear top wideouts. Top quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (ribs) could come off IR as early as Week 6, but Waddle will need to work with Jacoby Brissett under center again for at least Sunday's contest in Tampa Bay.

  • DeAndre Carter WR | DET

Football Team's DeAndre Carter: Manages return TD

Carter secured his only target for 24 yards during Sunday's 34-30 win over the Falcons. He also racked up 152 kick return yards, including a touchdown.

Carter was named NFC special teams player of the week for his performance in Washington's narrow win over Atlanta. His highlight play came on the opening kick return of the second half, which he converted into a 101 yard return and score. On the season, Carter is averaging 27.8 yards per kick return and 9.3 yards per punt return.

  • Gabe Davis WR | BUF

Bills' Gabriel Davis: Shut out in blowout win

Davis failed to bring in his only target during Sunday's 40-0 win over Houston.

Davis was one of the few Bills who didn't get in on the scoring frenzy, failing to catch a pass for the second time this season despite playing 43 percent of the snaps on offense. Despite a pleasantly surprising rookie season, Davis has been pushed down in this high-powered and currently healthy offense in his second NFL campaign. Part of that stems from the emergence of tight end Dawson Knox, who's now a regular presence in the passing game, and the addition of a viable No. 2 receiver this offseason in Emmanuel Sanders also puts Davis further away from fantasy relevance after he took advantage of the opportunities created in 2020 when former Bills wideout John Brown was hurt most of the season.
