  • Keke Coutee WR | MIA

Keke Coutee: Joining Indy's practice squad

Coutee agreed Wednesday to join the Colts' practice squad, independent NFL journalist Aaron Wilson reports.

The 24-year-old slot receiver went unclaimed after the Texans waived him Tuesday. The Colts swooped in with a practice squad offer, likely taking note after Coutee caught 13 passes for 194 yards and a touchdown in two games against them last season. He also had a 100-yard game against Indianapolis in his NFL debut back in Week 4 of 2018.

  • David Moore WR | CAR

    David Moore: Leaving Carolina

The Panthers released Moore on Wednesday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.

A 2017 seventh-round pick, Moore spent his first four seasons with the Seahawks, after which the Panthers inked him to a deal back in March. But with Terrace Marshall's subsequent addition in the draft and his impressive play throughout the preseason, Carolina is moving on from the 26-year-old Moore. With Moore out of the picture, the team's group of wide receivers now includes Robby Anderson, DJ Moore, Marshall, Brandon Zylstra and Shi Smith (shoulder).

  • Bears' Breshad Perriman: Lands in Chicago

Perriman agreed Wednesday with the Bears on a one-year contract, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

The division-rival Lions released Perriman a day earlier, opting instead for the likes of Kalif Raymond, Trinity Benson, Tom Kennedy and KhaDarel Hodge to fill out their depth chart at receiver. Being cut by Detroit wasn't a great sign for Perriman's NFL future, but it's worth noting that the Lions are in Year 1 of a rebuild, whereas Bears head coach Matt Nagy is arguably facing a make-or-break season. Perriman could now challenge Marquise Goodwin for the No. 3 receiver spot in Chicago.

  • Giants' Collin Johnson: Lands with G-Men

The Giants claimed Johnson off waivers from the Jaguars on Wednesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Jacksonville's decision to cut Johnson on Tuesday was a mild surprise after he earned some playing time late in his rookie season. The 2020 fifth-round pick is one of the league's tallest wideouts at 6-foot-6, providing some size for a receiver corps that doesn't have much of it beyond Kenny Golladay. Even so, Johnson will need to impress on the practice field to keep his roster spot, hoping to work his way up the depth chart eventually. The Giants have struggled to keep their wide receivers healthy all summer, but the key guys appear tentatively on track for Week 1.

  • Lions' KhaDarel Hodge: Claimed by Detroit

The Loins claimed Hodge off waivers Wednesday, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Hodge was Cleveland's No. 3 receiver for part of last season, and he now finds himself on arguably the weakest receiver depth chart in the league. Of course, he was waived for a reason, and he's caught only 17 passes in 39 regular-season games. Hodge most likely will be a backup and special-teams player, even with the receiver-needy Lions.

  • Tyron Johnson WR | DAL

Jaguars' Tyron Johnson: Claimed by Jags

The Jaguars claimed Johnson off waivers Wednesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Johnson was one of the more surprising roster cuts Tuesday, failing to make the Chargers' initial 53-man team despite posting a 20-398-3 receiving line on 26 targets last season. He's already 25 years old, but even if his development stalls, Johnson could perhaps be useful as a deep threat off the bench. He has a shot to be the No. 4 receiver in Jacksonville, where return specialists Jamal Agnew and Tavon Austin are the other wideout options behind DJ Chark, Marvin Jones and Laviska Shenault.

  • Alex Bachman WR | LAR

Alex Bachman: Waived with injury designation

Bachman was waived/injured by the Giants with an undisclosed injury Tuesday, Michael Eisen of the Giants' official site reports.

Bachman has appeared in just one game across his first two seasons in the league, and he'll revert to the Giants' injured reserve if he goes unclaimed on waivers. However, the nature and severity of his injury aren't yet known.

  • A.J. Brown WR | NE

Titans' A.J. Brown: Practices again Tuesday

Brown (knee) and Julio jones (undisclosed) both practiced Tuesday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official website reports.

The two banged-up wideouts ran routes at Monday's practice and did more work during Tuesday's non-padded session. Both are expected to play Week 1, despite seemingly missing more practices than they participated in this summer. In Brown's case, he's healing from an injury to one of his surgically repaired knees after undergoing procedures at the beginning of the offseason. That doesn't exactly sound ideal, but it could work out in his favor once the current issue is sorted out, as Brown reportedly played through knee issues all of last season, putting off surgery until the Titans had been eliminated from the playoffs. He should ramp up his practice participation in the coming days, with the goal of handling a full workload Week 1 against Arizona.

  • J.J. Koski WR | DEN

    J.J. Koski: Sent to waivers

The Rams waived Koski on Tuesday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Koski joined the Rams as an undrafted free agent last season and stuck with the organization's practice squad after being cut. He will likely have a similar journey this season if he clears waivers.

  • Trishton Jackson: Sent to waivers

The Rams waived Jackson on Tuesday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Jackson gave himself a shot to make the roster by catching three of five targets for 48 yards in the Rams' preseason finale. However, the 23-year-old was unable to secure a spot after being sidelined for nearly two weeks of training camp with a leg injury. The Syracuse product made the Rams' initial 53-man roster to start the 2020 campaign, but he remained inactive all season. He is a likely candidate to join the Rams' practice squad if he goes unclaimed on waivers.
