  • DK Metcalf WR | PIT

Steelers' DK Metcalf: Two-game suspension upheld

The NFL announced Tuesday that Metcalf's two-game suspension was upheld on appeal.

Metcalf was handed the suspension for "conduct detrimental to the NFL," after he was involved in an altercation with a fan in Detroit on Sunday. Now that the two-game ban has been upheld, the wide receiver will miss the team's final two games of the regular season, and as a result, $45 million in guaranteed money on his four-year contract has now been voided. In Metcalf's absence for Week 17 in Cleveland and Week 18 against Baltimore, receivers Calvin Austin (hamstring), Adam Thielen and Marquez Valdes-Scantling could all be in line for increased snap counts and target shares. Running back Kenneth Gainwell could also continue to see heavy involvement in the passing game after drawing seven targets in each of the past three contests.

  • Coleman Owen WR | IND

Coleman Owen: Placed back on practice squad

Owen reverted to Indianapolis' practice squad Tuesday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Owen was elevated ahead of Monday's Week 16 loss to San Francisco and played one offensive snap, getting one target that he didn't catch. He also played nine special-teams snaps, logging three kick returns for 89 yards. It was the second straight week Owen was elevated, which coincides with Anthony Gould missing the past two weeks due to a foot injury. It's likely that Owen's chance of being elevated again for Sunday's Week 17 game against the Jaguars hinges on whether Gould is able to return.

  • Romeo Doubs WR | GB

Packers' Romeo Doubs: Wrist issue not concerning

Doubs (wrist) didn't appear Tuesday on the Packers' initial Week 17 practice report.

Doubs was deemed questionable to return to this past Saturday's 22-16 overtime loss to the Bears after he appeared to sustain the wrist injury on an onside kick late in the fourth quarter that Chicago recovered. Though his night ended on a sour note, Doubs produced well for those that included him in fantasy lineups Week 16, logging five catches for 84 yards and a touchdown on six targets. His touchdown grab came on a 33-yard deep shot late in the third quarter from backup quarterback Malik Willis, who replaced a concussed Jordan Love. Both Love and Willis (shoulder) were listed as limited participant in Tuesday's walk-through session, so it's not yet clear whom Doubs will be catching passes from this Saturday against the Ravens.

  • Derius Davis WR | LAC

Chargers' Derius Davis: Deemed DNP on Tuesday

Davis (ankle) was listed as a non-participant for Tuesday's practice.

Davis has missed the Chargers' past two games while dealing with an ankle injury. His DNP listing to begin this week isn't a promising sign for his return to action, though he'll have two more opportunities to practice in some capacity this week ahead of Saturday's matchup versus the Texans. Davis has had a minor role on offense when healthy, but he's also worked as the team's lead kick and punt returner, and those duties have fallen to KeAndre Lambert-Smith and Ladd McConkey, respectively, while Davis has been out.

  • Tre Harris WR | LAC

Chargers' Tre' Harris: Sidesteps injury report

Harris (finger) didn't appear on the Chargers' initial Week 17 injury report released Tuesday.

Following Sunday's 34-17 win over the Cowboys, head coach Jim Harbaugh classified Harris as day-to-day with a finger issue, but the injury wasn't enough of a concern for the Chargers to list the rookie wideout on their weekly report. Harris thus looks to be in the clear for Saturday's game against the Texans, but he'll likely have to settle for more of a part-time role on offense after Quentin Johnston (groin) returned from a one-game absence in Week 16. Harris had handled a season-high 85 percent snap share in Week 15 while Johnston was sidelined, but Harris dropped back to a 45 percent share against Dallas.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Limited for walkthrough session

The Lions listed St. Brown (knee) as a limited participant in Tuesday's walk-through practice.

Earlier Tuesday, head coach Dan Campbell told Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press that St. Brown is still battling "a little irritation" in his knee, but the Lions remain optimistic that the star wideout will play in Thursday's game in Minnesota. St. Brown may need to upgrade to full participation in Wednesday's session in order to avoid taking a questionable tag into Thursday, however.

  • Ryan Flournoy WR | DAL

Cowboys' Ryan Flournoy: Setback at practice

Flournoy (knee) was listed as a non-participant in Tuesday's practice, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.

Dallas had deemed Flournoy a limited participant for Monday's walk-through session, but the wideout may have suffered a setback in that workout that prompted the team to hold him out for Tuesday's practice. Flournoy was still present at the Cowboys' facility Tuesday, though he was relegated to rehabbing off to the side and was sporting a brace on his right knee, per Todd Archer of ESPN.com. He'll have one more chance to practice this week before the Cowboys decide whether he'll take a designation into Thursday's game at Washington.

  • Pat Bryant WR | DEN

Broncos' Pat Bryant: Misses walk-through practice

Bryant (concussion) didn't participate in Tuesday's walk-through practice, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.

Bryant sustained a concussion after he took a big hit in the closing minute of Sunday's 34-20 loss to the Jaguars, resulting in him being admitted to a local hospital following the game. The wideout has since been discharged after clearing all subsequent diagnostic testing, but he appears to be facing long odds to clear the five-step concussion protocol ahead of Thursday's game against the Chiefs. If Bryant isn't available for the Christmas Day contest, Marvin Mims and Lil'Jordan Humphrey would likely share the No. 3 receiver role.

  • Cowboys' KaVontae Turpin: Limited Tuesday

Turpin (shoulder) was limited in Tuesday's practice, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.

Turpin produced 27 total yards on four touches on offense in Sunday's loss to the Chargers. His biggest impact comes on special teams, where he serves as the Cowboys' return man.

  • Brandon Smith: Signed to practice squad

The Patriots signed Smith to the practice squad Tuesday.

Smith was waived from the Jets' practice squad Dec. 2. The former Jet may have a chance for a revenge game this Sunday, as the wide receiver is a prime candidate for practice squad elevation with Kayshon Boutte (concussion) and DeMario Douglas (hamstring) both nursing injuries ahead of the contest.
