Head coach Aaron Glenn confirmed Monday that Klubnik will open the season as the Jets' No. 2 quarterback behind Geno Smith, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.

The Jets cut both Brady Cook and Bailey Zappe over the weekend, leaving the rookie Klubnik as the lone signal-caller on the roster other thant Smith. Glenn said Monday any further additions to the quarterback room prior to Week 1 would come in the form of a practice-squad signing. A fourth-round draft pick out of Clemson, Klubnik completed 21 of 34 pass attempts for 197 scoreless yards and one interception during the preseason.

Trayanum (neck) was placed on injured reserve by the Jets on Sunday, Eric Allen & Amanda Vogt of the team's official website report.

Trayanum suffered a neck injury in the team's preseason finale against the Giants on Friday. The running back is now set to miss the entire 2026 campaign while on IR with New York, and he'd have to reach an injury settlement with the team to have a chance to play this season.

Tipton (leg) was moved to the reserve/PUP list by the Saints on Sunday.

Tipton underwent tibia surgery in the offseason, and as a result, he opened training camp on the active/PUP list, ultimately failing to play during the preseason. The wide receiver will now be forced to miss at least four contests to open the regular season, and the earliest he'd be able to return to action is Week 5 versus the Vikings on Oct. 11.

Coach Todd Monken said Monday that Gabriel's back injury is not considered serious, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports.

Gabriel has been placed on injured reserve to begin the season, so he'll be required to miss at least the first four games of 2026. It sounds like it was more of a procedural move by Cleveland to buy the team more time to sort out its quarterback situation, one that also involves starter Deshaun Watson and current backups Shedeur Sanders and rookie Taylen Green. Gabriel showed enough in the preseason to warrant a roster spot, either in Cleveland or elsewhere.

Landry (undisclosed) was moved to the reserve/PUP list by the Patriots on Sunday.

Landry spent the entirety of training camp and the preseason on the active/PUP list with an undisclosed injury. The 30-year-old will now be sidelined for at least four contests to open the 2026 campaign, and the earliest he'd be able to return to action is Week 5 against the Raiders on Oct. 11. In his absence, Elijah Ponder is a top candidate to start opposite of Dre'Mont Jones at outside linebacker.

Duck (knee) was moved to the reserve/PUP list by Miami on Sunday.

Duck spent the entirety of training camp and the preseason on the active/PUP list as he continues to nurse a knee injury that he suffered in October. The cornerback will now be forced to miss at least four contests to open the 2026 campaign, and the earliest he'd be able to return to action is Week 5 against the Bengals on Oct. 11.

Moore (ankle) was placed on injured reserve by the Dolphins on Sunday with a designation to return.

Moore suffered an ankle injury in the team's second preseason contest against the Giants on Aug. 22, and he was unable to appear in the team's preseason finale against the Falcons on Friday. The rookie fourth-round pick will now be forced to sit out the first four games of the 2026 campaign, and the earliest he'll be able to make his NFL regular-season debut is Week 5 against the Bengals on Oct. 11. In Moore's absence, Ronnie Harrison (hamstring) and Kyle Louis are candidates to see an increase in workload as reserve options at outside linebacker.

Baker (undisclosed) was moved to the reserve/PUP list by the Dolphins on Sunday.

Baker suffered an undisclosed injury in July, and he was sidelined for the entirety of training camp and the preseason. Head coach Jeff Hafley stated in late July that the cornerback will likely be out until midseason, and the earliest he can return from the reserve/PUP list is Week 5 against the Bengals on Oct. 11.

Demercado was claimed off waivers by the Cowboys on Monday, Tom Pelissero of Netflix reports.

In the wake of Sunday's cut-down day, Dallas rostered just two running backs and a fullback on its active roster: Javonte Williams, Malik Davis and Hunter Luepke. With the addition of Demercado, the team gains an experienced hand who spent the first three seasons of his career with the Cardinals, averaging 6.5 YPC on his 126 carries to date.

Grant (leg) was placed on injured reserve by the Dolphins on Sunday with a designation to return.

Grant sustained a leg injury in mid-August, and he will now be sidelined for at least four games to open the regular season while on IR. In his absence, Jordan Phillips and Zach Sieler (undisclosed) will likely handle the lion's share of the workload at defensive tackle for Miami.
