The Saints have received interest in Rattler but aren't planning to trade him, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.

Rattler had an uneven first two NFL campaigns, making 14 starts in 16 regular-season contests and completing 62.7 percent of his pass attempts for 2,903 yards with a 12:10 TD:INT. He began last year as New Orleans' No. 1 QB but gave way to Tyler Shough after the team compiled a 1-7 record across its first eight games. Shough ran away with the job and is entering the upcoming campaign with a strong hold on top signal-caller role, which theoretically could make Rattler expendable. However, it appears the Saints want to keep Rattler as an insurance policy behind Shough, as Rattler would be in a good position to take over at QB if needed given his extensive opportunities over the past two years. Rattler's fantasy value in redraft leagues is almost non-existent given his backup role, and even if Shough were to go down with an injury, Rattler likely wouldn't be a hot pickup in most formats given his inconsistent play in the NFL so far.

Jordan (hip) is likely to resume practicing next week, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Jordan has been dealing with a strained hip flexor and didn't play at all during the preseason slate. However, the 27-year-old should be good to go for the beginning of the regular season as long as he doesn't experience any setbacks during upcoming practices. Jordan is slated to work as Houston's No. 3 RB this year behind David Montgomery and Woody Marks.

Demercado rushed nine time for 37 yards and caught his only target for 15 yards Friday in a 9-9 exhibition tie with the Seahawks.

Demercado is battling with rookie Emmett Johnson and sophomore Brashard Smith for Kansas City's backup RB role behind Kenneth Walker (ankle). Johnson got the start Friday and impressed with seven rushes for 39 yards and two catches on two targets for 15 yards, while Smith also played well, carrying 16 times for 72 yards and returning one kickoff for 57 yards. Demercado did fine in logging 4.1 YPC, but it remains to be seen who will be named the No. 2 ball carrier heading into the regular season. Johnson (26-123-1) and Smith (30-130-0) both put up better stats on the ground during the exhibition slate than Demercado (17-64-0), but the latter has the most experience among the trio and has averaged an impressive 6.5 YPC over 126 career regular-season totes while showing the ability to catch passes as well, so he could have the upper hand in the competition.

Rice played offensive 10 snaps in Kansas City's 9-9 exhibition tie with the Seahawks on Friday and did not record any targets or touches.

Rice and some of Kansas City's key offensive starters got to log some reps during the first quarter before being pulled. Though he didn't produce any offensive output, it's notable that Rice took part in his first game action since he landed on IR due to a concussion late last December. Rice had a tumultuous offseason, as he spent some time in jail due to a probation violation and also had a minor procedure on his right knee, but he appears healthy and isn't expected to face NFL discipline for the legal issue. As such, he can be penciled in as the Chiefs' top WR heading into Week 1 versus Denver on Monday, Sept. 14.

The Buccaneers waived Jackson on Saturday, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.

Jackson's time in Tampa Bay has seemingly come to an end just three days after first signing with the team. The 26-year-old will now look to catch on with another team.

Trigg (toe) failed to haul in any of his three targets during the Cowboys' preseason loss to the Saints on Friday.

Trigg had been dealing with a toe injury but managed to suit up for the team's preseason finale and ended up getting the start. The 24-year-old could be a candidate to land on Dallas' practice squad should he fail to earn a spot on the team's active roster.

Brown caught one of his two targets for 27 yards during Dallas' preseason loss to the Saints on Saturday.

Brown served as one of the Cowboys' starting receivers and ended up playing 17 snaps on offense. The rookie undrafted free agent is facing an uphill battle to earn a roster spot and could be more likely to wind up on the practice squad.

Smith caught three of his four targets for 19 yards during the Cowboys' preseason game Friday versus the Saints.

Smith was part of Dallas' starting lineup and ended up playing 52 offensive snaps. The rookie seventh-round pick has had a quiet showing during the preseason, catching five of his eight targets for just 37 yards, and could face an uphill battle to make the roster, as the Cowboys have ample receiver depth.

Wright was waived by the Texans on Saturday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Wright's time in Houston has seemingly come to an end less than a month after he first signed with the team. The 27-year-old will now look to find a new opportunity with another team.

Allen caught his only target for 24 yards in Saturday's 25-16 preseason loss to the Lions.

Having just signed with Indianapolis less than two weeks ago, Allen saw his first game action for his new club and quickly produced a big gain on Anthony Richardson's first pass attempt of the afternoon, helping to set up a field goal. Top wideouts Alec Pierce (ankle) and Josh Downs (calf), as well as top tight end Tyler Warren (groin), are all carrying injury designations to close out the preseason, so Allen could end up having a bigger role in the passing attack than expected once Week 1 rolls around. The 34-year-old showed he can still be an effective possession option in 2025 with the Chargers, delivering an 81-777-4 line on 122 targets while playing all 17 regular-season contests.
