  • Rico Dowdle RB | PIT

Steelers' Rico Dowdle: Remains out of uniform Thursday

Dowdle (toe) was out of his walking boot Thursday but wasn't in uniform at practice, Mike DeFabo of The Athletic reports.

Dowdle took a step in the right direction by shedding the boot, but his status for Sunday's game against the Bengals remains murky at best since he has yet to practice this week. Jaylen Warren (shoulder), who was listed as a limited participant Wednesday, was in uniform again Thursday. If Dowdle ultimately sits, Warren would be in line to lead Pittsburgh's backfield, with Eli Heidenreich on hand in a change-of-pace role.

  • Jaylen Warren RB | PIT

Steelers' Jaylen Warren: Practicing again Thursday

Warren (shoulder) was in uniform and participating during the portion of Thursday's practice open to the media, Nick Farabaugh of PennLive.com reports.

Warren was listed as a limited participant Wednesday and it remains to be seen whether he's able to upgrade to full participation Thursday, but it's nonetheless encouraging to see the running back practicing in some capacity. The same can't be said for Rico Dowdle (toe), who wasn't in uniform at Thursday's practice. Assuming Warren is ultimately cleared to play Sunday against the Bengals, he could see an uptick in touches if Dowdle sits. Eli Heidenreich rounds out Pittsburgh's running back depth chart.

  • Commanders' Chig Okonkwo: Unable to practice Thursday

Okonkwo (hamstring) remained sidelined at practice Thursday, Tashan Reed of the Washington Post reports.

Okonkwo appears to be trending toward a second consecutive absence Sunday against the Seahawks, but he still has one more chance to practice Friday before Washington releases its Week 3 injury report. If Okonkwo sits out again, Ben Sinnott and John Bates would be the top tight end targets for Marcus Mariota.

  • Nico Collins WR | HOU

Texans' Nico Collins: Not practicing Thursday

Collins (hamstring) wasn't spotted at the media-access portion of Thursday's practice, DJ Bien-Aime of ESPN.com reports.

Collins has yet to resume practicing since injuring his hamstring in practice last Wednesday. The star wide receiver sat out Houston's Week 2 loss to the Bengals and is likely headed for another absence Sunday against the Colts. Collins will likely have to practice in some capacity Friday to avoid being ruled out ahead of Sunday's game.

  • Sam Darnold QB | SEA

Seahawks' Sam Darnold: On 'good track' for Sunday, per coach

Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald said after Wednesday's practice that Darnold (glute) is "on a good track" to play Sunday against the Commanders, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.

After suffering a right glute strain early in the Seahawks' season-opening win over the Patriots, Darnold sat out the team's Week 2 win in Arizona, but that could end up being the extent of his absence. Darnold returned to practice Wednesday as a limited participant, splitting first-team reps with Drew Lock. Macdonald noted that Darnold's workload will be ramped up as the week progresses, and if the 29-year-old responds well to the added reps, he could get the green light to start Sunday in Washington. The Seahawks are likely to wait until after Friday's practice concludes before formally deciding on a Week 3 starter.

  • Mike Evans WR | SF

49ers' Mike Evans: On track to practice, play Week 3

The hip injury Evans sustained in Sunday's win over the Dolphins "does not seem to be major," and the wideout has a "good chance" of practicing Thursday and/or Friday and playing this weekend against the Cardinals, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Evans sat out Wednesday's practice, but his absence looks to have been more of a maintenance day. The 49ers could manage Evans' reps to some extent over their final two practices of the week, but assuming he's able to take the field in some capacity within the next day or two, the six-time Pro Bowler should be good to go for Sunday. Evans should be in line for a sizable target share after an already banged-up 49ers receiver corps lost another key member (Demarcus Robinson) to a high-ankle sprain in the Week 2 win over Miami.

  • Puka Nacua WR | LAR

Rams' Puka Nacua: Week 3 availability in doubt

Nacua, who was listed as a non-participant on Wednesday's estimated practice report, doesn't appear to be making much progress in his recovery from a groin injury and could be trending toward a second consecutive absence Sunday against the Broncos, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

The Rams are taking a cautious approach with the star wide receiver, whom head coach Sean McVay noted Wednesday isn't dealing with a hernia and isn't facing a long-term absence, per Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com. Nacua's participation level will bear monitoring when the Rams hold practice Thursday, but at this point in the week, the wideout may be trending toward sitting out that session, as well as the Rams' next game Sunday. While Nacua was sidelined for the Rams' 28-6 win over the Giants on Monday, Davante Adams moved into the No. 1 wideout role and stepped up with 195 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

  • Commanders' Brandon Coleman: Full practice Wednesday

Coleman (finger) was a full participant at the Commanders' practice Wednesday.

Coleman suffered a finger injury and was forced to exit Sunday's loss to the Cowboys early as a result. Head coach Dan Quinn said Monday that "all signs look good to go" for the offensive lineman to play Week 3 against the Seahawks, and he's now officially on track to be active after logging a full practice.

  • Andrew Thomas OT | NYG

Giants' Andrew Thomas: Limited in practice Wednesday

Thomas (groin) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Thomas exited Monday's game against the fourth quarter with a groin injury. The adductor issue he suffered is not considered a serious injury, and the left tackle could play in Sunday's game against the Titans, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Thomas will likely spend the week as a limited practice participant before suiting up for Sunday's game to play through the injury.

  • Micah McFadden LB | NYG

Giants' Micah McFadden: Full participant Wednesday

Dan Salomone of the Giants' official siteMcFadden (neck) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

McFadden missed the Giants' Week 2 loss to the Rams due to a neck injury. The linebacker was not able to log more than a limited practice session in the Week 2 build-up to Monday Night Football, a benchmark McFadden has already surpassed in Week 3 with his full session Wednesday. The 26-year-old should be healthy enough to suit up for Sunday's game against the Titans.
