The veteran forward completed a 3-on-2 counterattack by wiring a shot past Petr Mrazek from the slot. Giroux's goal gave him an even 20 on the season, the 11th time in his career he's reached that mark, but he's having a fairly quiet finish to the campaign. He hasn't produced a multi-point performance since Feb. 13, and in 23 games since then he's managed just three goals and 14 points.

  Giroux scored his 19th goal of the season and also succeeded on his shootout attempt in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Blue Jackets. The 36-year-old ended a 13-game goal drought in timely fashion, kick-starting a third-period rally from a 2-0 deficit by tipping home a Boris Katchouk pass. Giroux then ended the shootout by blasting a slapshot off the post past Elvis Merzlikins. Despite the goal outage, Giroux has still produced four tallies and 13 points in 17 games since the All-Star break while filling a key role up front for Ottawa.

Giroux remains stuck in a 13-game goal drought and has managed just two assists in his last eight outings while generating seven shots. It's a far cry from his eight-game point streak coming out of the All-Star break. Despite the decrease in productivity, Giroux shouldn't be in danger of losing either his top six or power-play role.
