• Kyle Turris: Ending playing career

  Turris will be a special advisor to the general manager for the BCHL's Coquitlam Express this year, signalling the end of the 33-year-old's playing career. Turris' playing career appears to be over after 776 games across 14 years. He'll finish with 168 goals and 257 assists. He was a first-round pick of the Coyotes in 2007 and also saw time with the Senators, Predators and Oilers. His new path looks set to take him into a front-office role.

• Oilers' Kyle Turris: Elevated from minors

  Turris was recalled from AHL Bakersfield on Monday. Turris has played in just one NHL game since late January and has spent the last two months playing in the minors. The veteran's promotion comes as the Condors were eliminated from the Calder Cup playoffs. Even with Turris back on the roster, he will be hard-pressed to break into the lineup during the postseason.

  Turris (undisclosed) was waived by Edmonton on Sunday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports. Turris has now been waived three times this season. The veteran forward has four points through 23 games on the year but he's missed 23 of the Oilers' last 25 games with various injuries. He could rejoin the big club in the near future if he goes unclaimed.

• Oilers' Kyle Turris: Back on injured reserve

  Turris (undisclosed) was placed on long-term injured reserve Wednesday. Turris came off of injured reserve last week and played in a 5-2 loss to the Canadiens on Saturday, though he logged just 4:41 of ice time. The 32-year-old's placement on LTIR indicates he'll have to miss 24 days and 10 games, so he won't be back until April 3 at the earliest. Considering he's played limited minutes, this won't affect most fantasy managers' plans, though this will likely make it impossible for Oilers to move him out ahead of the March 21 trade deadline.

  Turris (undisclosed) was removed from injured reserve Thursday. Turris has missed the last 14 games with a mystery injury but he could be back in the lineup Thursday against Chicago. The veteran forward has just four points while averaging 8:48 of ice time through 22 games this season. Once he's back in the lineup, he should slide into a bottom-six role.
