Pageau notched three assists in Thursday's 5-4 win over Chicago. It's the second three-point performance in the last four games for Pageau, but those are his only points so far in December. The veteran forward is still skating in a top-six role, but he's had trouble making a consistent impact with six goals and 16 points in 29 contests on the season.

Pageau scored a goal and added two assists in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Hurricanes. All of the Islanders' scoring came in the second period, with Pageau leading the charge with his best performance of the season. The veteran forward has only one other multi-point effort in 2024-25, a two-assist night against the Oilers on Nov. 12. Pageau has recorded six goals and 13 points in 26 appearances with 56 hits, 47 shots on net, 18 blocked shots and an even plus/minus rating.

Pageau had two shots and three hits in Tuesday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Canadiens. Pageau was back in the lineup, centering the third line, after missing two games due to a lower-body injury. The 32-year-old forward also returned to the second power-play unit, and he rang a post early in the second period with New York up a skater. Pageau, who has gone seven games without a goal, has five tallies, five assists, 43 shots, 51 hits, 17 blocks, two PIM and a minus-2 rating over 24 appearances.

Pageau (lower body) is projected to be in the lineup Tuesday versus the Canadiens, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports. Pageau was considered a game-time decision, but he took line rushes both at morning skate and in pregame warmups in a third-line role. He'll return after a two-game absence, though he'll be back on the third line with Simon Holmstrom settling in on the top line.

The 32-year-old's absence will be covered by defenseman Grant Hutton on Saturday, as the Islanders opt to play seven blueliners and 11 forwards. Simon Holmstrom figures to take on a larger role up front in Pageau's absence.
