Wilson produced a goal and an assist, both on the power play, while adding four hits and two shots on net during a 4-3 loss to the Rangers in Game 2 on Tuesday. The veteran winger has been one of the few players making a consistent impact for the Capitals as they face the prospect of having to come back from a two-game deficit against the team that had the best record in the NHL during the regular season. Wilson has a goal and three points with six hits and 12 PIM through the first two games of the playoffs.

Wilson garnered an assist to go with 12 PIM in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Rangers in Game 1. Wilson has points in four of his last five outings, notching one goal and three assists, including one power-play point, in that span. Heading into Game 2, Wilson should continue hold a top-six role given his offensive upside, though he is prone to spending a lot of time in the penalty box, which will limit his ability to produce.

Wilson's suspension is complete and he is eligible to return Thursday versus the Penguins, per CapFriendly. Wilson was given a six-game suspension for a high stick on the Maple Leafs' Noah Gregor in the Capitals' March 20 game versus Toronto. With the 30-year-old Wilson back from his ban, he should slot into a top-six role with power-play time as the Capitals look to stay ahead of the field in the wild-card race.

Wilson has been offered an in-person hearing for high-sticking Toronto's Noah Gregor in Wednesday's loss to the Maple Leafs. That's not good news for Wilson as an in-person hearing usually means a six-game suspension, or more, is on the table. Wilson received a double-minor in the third period for his infraction on Gregor. Wilson had an assist Wednesday, giving him 32 points in 66 games this season.
