  • Head coach Rod Brind'Amour said Thursday that Andersen (lower body) is considered week-to-week, according to Cory Lavalette of the North State Journal. Andersen was injured Saturday in Seattle, and while it was thought that the injury wasn't serious, it turns out that the netminder will be forced to miss some time. Pyotr Kochetkov takes over as the No. 1 goaltender in the interim, while Spencer Martin will be his backup. Andersen is 3-1-1 with a sizzling 1.49 GAA and an impressive .940 save percentage in four appearances this season.

  • Andersen (lower body) is still being evaluated by coach Rod Brind'Amour told reporters he was "under the impression that it shouldn't be too serious," per Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site on Wednesday. Even with a somewhat positive update, Andersen should probably be expected to miss out versus the Bruins on Thursday, though he hasn't been officially ruled out. The veteran backstop had been playing every other game to open the season while splitting the crease with Pyotr Kochetkov, which would have meant Andersen got the nod Thursday. Instead, it looks like Kochetkov could go in consecutive games for the first time this year.

  • Andersen (lower body) won't be in the lineup for Monday's game against Vancouver, Cory Lavalette of the North State Journal reports. Andersen sustained an injury in Saturday's 4-1 win over Seattle. He is day-to-day for now, and the Hurricanes will evaluate him further once the team returns to Raleigh. Spencer Martin was recalled from AHL Chicago on Monday to be Pyotr Kochetkov's backup versus the Canucks.

  • Andersen stopped 18 of 19 shots in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Kraken. Andersen picked up his third straight win, and the Hurricanes' defense made it fairly easy for the 35-year-old goalie. Seattle's lone tally came on an odd-man rush in the third period. Andersen has allowed just six goals on 101 shots while going 3-1-0 over his first four outings of 2024-25. If the Hurricanes continue to alternate goalie starts, Pyotr Kochetkov will get the nod Monday in Vancouver, while Andersen will start at home Thursday versus the Bruins.
