• Devils' Erik Haula: Finishes with 35 points

  Haula ended the 2023-24 season with 16 goals, 35 points and 155 shots on goal in 76 appearances. Haula also set a career high with 54 PIM, and his minus-1 rating was his worst since a minus-16 mark with the Golden Knights in 2017-18. Ironically, that season in Vegas was Haula's most productive from an offensive standpoint (29 goals and 55 points), but he didn't provide nearly enough offense in 2023-24 to help counterbalance New Jersey's teamwide defensive struggles as the Devils fell short of the postseason.

  Haula had no shots and a minus-1 rating in Sunday's 3-1 loss to the Golden Knights. Haula has struggled to generate offense lately despite seeing significant ice time -- he skated 19:45 in Sunday's loss, including 1:33 on the power play. His last multi-point game came Feb. 6, and Haula has just three goals and three assists in 20 subsequent appearances. Overall, Haula's at 14 goals and 31 points in 62 games.

  Haula logged an assist, two hits and two PIM in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Predators. Haula set up a Nico Hischier empty-net goal to close out the win. The 32-year-old Haula has remained as the second-line center since Jack Hughes returned Feb. 8. Staying in the top six is good news for Haula's scoring potential, though he's still likely to be a complementary player. He's at 27 points, 93 shots on net, 49 hits, 34 PIM and an even plus-minus rating through 46 appearances.

  Haula scored an empty-net goal on four shots, added an assist and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Avalanche. Haula was away from the team to welcome his second child prior to the All-Star break. He showed off some dad strength in his return, earning his third multi-point effort since the start of January while snapping a six-game goal drought. The 32-year-old is up to 25 points, 86 shots on net, 42 hits and a minus-1 rating through 42 contests. Haula continues to play as a middle-six center, though he could move down the lineup or onto the wing once Jack Hughes (upper body) returns.

• Devils' Erik Haula: Back at practice

  Haula (personal) rejoined New Jersey on Sunday, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports. Haula missed the Devils' last game before the All-Star break to attend the birth of his second child. The 32-year-old forward returned to practice Sunday and figures to be back in the lineup Tuesday versus Colorado. Haula has 10 goals and 23 points in 41 games this season.
