He's also still a part of the second power-play unit, but it hasn't helped his offense. The 33-year-old defenseman has eight points, 22 shots on net, 39 hits, 20 blocked shots and a minus-5 rating through 34 appearances. Barring an uptick in scoring, Schmidt is not a particularly strong fantasy option.

  Schmidt recorded a power-play assist and three hits in Saturday's 6-0 win over the Hurricanes. Not to rain on any parades, but Schmidt's helper came on the Panthers' last goal as they were running up the score in the third period. The 33-year-old often plays on the second power-play unit, but it hasn't led to a particularly high level of offense or consistency. He's up to eight points (three on the power play), 18 shots on net, 27 hits, 17 blocked shots and a minus-1 rating across 23 appearances. Schmidt played in all but one of the Panthers' 14 games in November and looks to have the edge over Uvis Balinskis and Adam Boqvist in terms of staying in the lineup at this stage of the campaign.

  Schmidt scored a goal in Saturday's 5-0 win over Winnipeg. Schmidt found the back of the net just 2:07 into the second period to give the Panthers a 2-0 lead. The blueliner hasn't been very productive this season, however, and he earns most of his limited fantasy value via physical stats. He has only three goals and three assists in 17 outings in 2024-25.

  Schmidt scored a goal on two shots in Saturday's 4-3 shootout win over the Flyers. Schmidt has three points and a plus-1 rating over his last five contests. The 33-year-old defenseman has seen time on the third pairing and second power-play unit in that span after opening the campaign in a more limited role when the Panthers were forced to dress seven blueliners. He's up to five points, nine shots on net, 21 hits, eight blocked shots and a minus-1 rating through 14 appearances. If Schmidt can chip in offense somewhat consistently, he could be helpful in deep fantasy formats.

  Schmidt posted a power-play assist, three hits and a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 6-2 win over the Predators. Schmidt has earned two helpers over his last four games, both coming on the power play. He's playing on the second unit now after mostly missing out with the man advantage early in the campaign. The 33-year-old has four points, seven shots on net, 20 hits, eight blocked shots, seven PIM and an even plus-minus rating over 13 appearances. Schmidt and Adam Boqvist appear to be competing for one spot in the lineup now that the Panthers have gotten healthy, and it's a battle Schmidt is winning.
