At least for Monday's game, it worked beautifully -- Lindell helped out on one of Heiskanen's tallies as well as a Logan Stankoven goal in a six-goal first period. The 30-year-old Lindell has kicked his offense up a notch with six points over his last six games, which represents all of his scoring so far this season. He's added 22 shots on net, 29 blocked shots, 12 hits and a plus-6 rating through 14 appearances.

Lindell remains warm on offense -- he has four points over his last four games, though that span dates back to Oct. 26 since the Stars were part of the NHL Global Series in Finland. The 30-year-old defenseman had not recorded a point in his first eight outings this season. He is up to 18 shots on net, 25 blocked shots, 11 hits and a plus-3 rating through 12 appearances in a top-four role.

The 30-year-old has produced three points over his last two outings after being held without a point in eight consecutive games to open the 2024-25 campaign. Through 10 games, Lindell has posted three points, 16 shots, 24 blocks, five takeaways and a plus-2 rating.

The 30-year-old Lindell signed a five-year extension in September and continues to be a key shutdown defender for the Stars. He's added 13 shots on net, 23 blocked shots, 10 hits and a plus-2 rating through nine appearances this season while averaging 21:02 of ice time.

Lindell signed a five-year, $26.25 million contract extension with Dallas on Tuesday, per Chris Johnston of The Athletic. Lindell provided five goals, 26 points, 114 shots on net, 162 blocked shots and 74 hits across 82 regular-season contests in 2023-24. He will have a $5.8 million cap hit for 2024-25 before it drops to $5.25 million during his new agreement. Lindell will likely occupy a top-four role in the upcoming campaign while featuring prominently on the penalty kill.
