Eichel (illness) is day-to-day with a lower-body injury and won't join the Knights for their two-game road trip, Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports Friday. At this point, Eichel could just be held out through the Christmas break in order to give him some extra time to get back to 100 percent, though he hasn't been officially ruled out for Tuesday's home clash with the Sharks. While the 29-year-old center has scored just once in his last five games, he has racked up eight helpers over that stretch, including three with the man advantage. Tomas Hertl figures to hold down the first-line center role while Eichel is unavailable.

Eichel (illness) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Devils, Jesse Granger of The Athletic reports. Eichel left Tuesday's practice early due to his illness, and he'll be unavailable for at least one game. He's considered day-to-day, and his next opportunity to suit up will be Saturday in Calgary. Reilly Smith and Alexander Holtz are candidates to enter the lineup in Eichel's absence.

Eichel notched two assists, one on the power play, in Thursday's 3-2 overtime win over the Flyers. It's the fourth straight multi-point performance for Eichel, who helped set up two Mark Stone tallies in the OT win. Eichel is steaming toward the first 100-point campaign of his career if he can stay healthy, and through 30 games he's produced 12 goals and 40 points. Curiously, he's still looking for his first power-play tally in 2025-26, but he's hardly been invisible with the man advantage, collecting 15 assists -- second in the NHL to Mikko Rantanen's 17 power-play helpers.

Eichel recorded two assists and four shots on goal in Tuesday's 5-4 shootout loss to the Islanders. Eichel had the primary helper on Noah Hanifin's opening goal before picking up the secondary assist on a marker by Ivan Barbashev early in the third period. Eichel is up to 26 assists, 38 points and 114 shots on net through 29 games this season. The 29-year-old center has a pair of points in each of his last three games, tying him for eighth in the league in points. After a career-high 94 points through 77 regular-season games a year ago, Eichel should contend for a similar number this season while leading one of the league's best offensive groups.

Eichel scored a goal on two shots and added an assist in Sunday's 3-2 overtime win over the Rangers. Eichel had the secondary helper on Tomas Hertl's tying goal at 19:08 of the third period. In overtime, Eichel's partial breakaway goal won it for Vegas at 4:52 of the extra session. The 29-year-old has four multi-point efforts over his last eight games, racking up four goals and eight assists in that span. For the season, he's at 12 goals, 36 points, 110 shots on net and a plus-6 rating through 28 appearances.
