Hanifin put Vegas on the scoresheet midway through the opening period with his second goal of the season. He's up to six points, 50 shots on goal and 34 blocks through 19 appearances this season. While the offense hasn't been at the same level as his past four seasons, he's remained a solid option in fantasy through his volume of shots, blocks and ice time. Hanifin should continue to see top-four minutes for the Golden Knights and is trending upward offensively after posting two points in his last three games.

The defenseman has looked good since returning from a lower-body injury that cost him most of October. This was Hanifin's first helper of the year, though he's been limited to three games after missing time due to a lower-body injury. The 28-year-old defenseman has resumed a role in the Golden Knights' top four over the last two contests since coming off of injured reserve. He could see some power-play time on the second unit, which boosts his scoring potential, but he doesn't play a particularly physical game for a blueliner.

Hanifin (lower body) was activated from injured reserve Tuesday, per the NHL media site. Hanifin appears poised to return to the lineup against Detroit on Tuesday after missing the last 10 games. He logged 24:00 of ice time, earning three shots on goal and two hits, in Vegas' season-opening 6-5 shootout loss to the Kings on Oct. 8 before the injury.

Head coach Bruce Cassidy said Thursday that Hanifin (lower body) has resumed skating but won't play Friday against the Avalanche, Jesse Granger of The Athletic reports. Cassidy said that Hanifin is getting closer to returning, but the defenseman will require at least one more game on the shelf due to his lower-body injury. While a timetable for his return isn't yet clear, it seems as though he'll be in the mix to suit up sometime in the first half of November.
