Hanifin notched a power-play assist, three shots on goal and a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 6-1 win over the Kings. Hanifin has endured a rough start to the campaign. The 27-year-old has just two assists to go with 10 shots on net, 13 blocked shots, six hits and a minus-1 rating over seven contests. After Hanifin began his Vegas tenure with 17 points (eight on the power play) over 26 games between the end of the regular season and the playoffs, it's a little shocking he's been less productive to begin 2024-25. Shea Theodore (illness) and Alex Pietrangelo have handled the power-play duties for the most part, leaving Hanifin in a more defensive role.

Hanifin scored a goal on three shots in Friday's 2-0 win over the Stars in Game 6. Hanifin's goal midway through the third period opened the scoring and stood as the game-winner. The 27-year-old defenseman has continued to be a strong part of the Golden Knights' blue line in the postseason, picking up two goals, three assists, 10 shots on net, 12 blocked shots, six hits and a minus-2 rating over six first-round appearances. Hanifin should continue to see significant minutes in all situations heading into Sunday's Game 7.

Hanifin scored a goal in Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Stars in Game 2. Hanifin's tally late in the second period stood as the game-winner. The defenseman has three points over two playoff contests as he continues to show why Vegas was interested in trading for him in March. In addition to a top-pairing role at even strength, Hanifin is also seeing time on the first power-play unit and killing penalties, making him arguably the Golden Knights' most important blueliner thus far in the postseason.

Hanifin logged two power-play assists, two blocked shots and a minus-2 rating in Monday's 4-3 win over the Stars in Game 1. Hanifin set up goals by Mark Stone and Tomas Hertl in the first period. Since his trade from the Flames, Hanifin has become the Golden Knights' top blueliner. He had 12 points over 19 regular-season outings with Vegas and should see big minutes in all situations during the playoffs.

Hanifin (rest) will be a healthy scratch Thursday against Anaheim, per Jesse Granger of The Athletic. This decision will allow Hanifin to rest before the playoffs. He has 13 goals and 47 points in 80 outings in 2023-24. Hanifin will undoubtedly be back in the lineup for Game 1 of the postseason.
