• Senators' Linus Ullmark: Dealt to Ottawa

  Boston traded Ullmark to the Senators for Joonas Korpisalo, Mark Kastelic and a 2024 first-round pick Monday. Ullmark will head to Ottawa with one year remaining on his contract, but it seems likely that the team will look to work out an extension. He won the Vezina Trophy during the 2022-23 campaign with just 49 regular-season appearances and split the workload with Jeremy Swayman again for most of this season, producing a .915 save percentage and a 2.58 GAA in the process. With Korpisalo heading to the Bruins, Ullmark should see more action during the 2024-25 campaign while Anton Forsberg serves as the backup. Ullmark appeared in just two of Boston's 13 postseason games.

  Ullmark allowed two goals on 10 shots after replacing Jeremy Swayman in the third period of Wednesday's 6-1 loss to the Panthers in Game 2. Swayman allowed three goals in the second period and a fourth tally 1:28 into the third before the Bruins turned to Ullmark in net. While Swayman would wind up with the loss, Ullmark didn't fair much better, allowing two more goals later in the frame. The 30-year-old Ullmark hadn't made an appearance since Game 2 of Boston's opening-round series against Toronto, when he allowed three goals on 34 shots in a loss. However, the Bruins could turn to Ullmark in net for Friday's Game 3 following Swayman's rough Game 2 outing, though that may be a bit unlikely given how great Swayman has been in the playoffs so far.

  Ullmark allowed three goals on 33 shots in Monday's 3-2 loss to the Maple Leafs in Game 2. Ullmark was solid Monday, but an Auston Matthews goal on a breakaway in the third period would ultimately stick the 30-year-old netminder with a one-goal loss. Ullmark went 22-10-7 with a .915 save percentage and 2.58 GAA in the regular season. It appears that Boston will continue to alternate him and Jeremy Swayman in the playoffs, lining up Ullmark for a road start in Game 4 on Saturday.

  Ullmark will start Game 2 at home against Toronto on Monday, Chris Johnston of The Athletic reports. Boston will continue to alternate between Ullmark and Jeremy Swayman as they did for most of the regular season. Ullmark is 6-4-1 with a .923 save percentage since the start of March, though he ended the regular season with a loss against Ottawa. For the season, he went 22-10-7 with a 2.58 GAA in 40 appearances.

  Ullmark stopped 17 of 19 shots in Tuesday's 3-1 loss to the Senators, with Ottawa's final goal getting scored into an empty net. The veteran netminder didn't look particularly sharp on the two pucks that beat him in the second period, both of which came as he was moving to his right and got handcuffed by a quick shot. Ullmark finished the regular season having allowed three goals or less in eight of his last nine starts, going 6-3-0 with a 1.90 GAA and .935 save percentage, and he seems likely to be between the pipes when Boston begins a first-round playoff series against Toronto this weekend.
