Meier (shoulder surgery) is practicing at training camp Thursday, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports. Meier picked up 28 goals and 52 points in 69 regular-season appearances last year. He was hurt throughout the campaign, and the Devils are hoping that he can get back to the 40-goal mark in a healthy season.

Meier will have arthroscopic surgery on his shoulder but is expected to be ready for training camp ahead of the 2024-25 campaign, the Devils announced Tuesday. Despite several injury concerns, Meier still managed to rack up 28 goals and 24 helpers in 69 games this season, including 17 power-play points. The Swiss international should be a near-lock to maintain a top-six role playing alongside Nico Hischier or Jack Hughes (shoulder) next season. It wouldn't be surprising to see Meier find his way back above the 30-goal and 60-point milestones provided he stays healthy.

Meier scored a goal on two shots in Monday's 4-1 loss to the Islanders. Meier got the Devils on the board early in the second period, knocking home a rebound off Semyon Varlamov to cut the Islanders' lead to 2-1. The 27-year-old winger finished the year strong, tallying nine goals and 16 points in his last 14 games. However, it was a disappointing campaign overall for Meier -- he'll finish with 28 goals and 52 points after surpassing the 60-point threshold in each of his previous two seasons.

Meier had two goals and an assist in a 6-5 win over Toronto on Thursday. All three points came on the power play. The first snipe came on a one-timer midway through the first period to put the Devils up 3-2. Meier scored his second near the end of the second to tie things up 4-4. It was Meier's first multi-goal game since Mar. 19. He has 27 goals, 24 assists and 201 shots in 67 games in his first full season with the Devils.

Meier notched an assist and went minus-3 in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Sabres. The winger stayed hot to end March, racking up five goals and five assists over his last six games of the month. Meier is at 24 goals, 22 helpers, 180 shots on net, 95 hits and a minus-23 rating through 61 appearances this season. He's struggled a bit overall in 2023-24, but with a 20-point month under his belt, he's starting to look more comfortable in the Devils' system.
