Toews scored two goals, one on the game-winner, and added an assist in Monday's 3-1 win over the Panthers. The Avs couldn't solve Sergei Bobrovsky until late in the second period, when a Toews point shot hit the crossbar, bounced off the ice and then caromed into the net off the veteran netminder's backside to tie the game at 1-1. Toews didn't stop there, beating Bobrovsky with another long-range shot midway through the third before helping to set up Mikko Rantanen for an empty-netter. Toews has two three-point performances in the last three games, and over the last four, he's erupted for a stunning four goals and seven points.

Toews notched one goal and two assists in Thursday's 6-5 overtime win over the Sabres. He also recorded four shots on goal, two blocked shots and a plus-3 rating. Toews recorded only his third multi-point game of the season, but he did it in a game where the Avs needed him badly, as it turned out to be an 11-goal offensive explosion. Toews has scored in back-to-back games this season, and he's up to three goals and 17 points through 35 contests in 2024-25.

Toews scored a goal on four shots in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Jets. Toews ended his 21-game goal drought with a second-period tally. The defenseman had also gone five contests without a point entering Tuesday's action. While the lack of offense is frustrating for fantasy managers, Toews is unlikely to slip out of a top-four role thanks to his defensive work. He has two goals, 12 assists, 55 shots on net, 42 blocked shots and a plus-6 rating over 34 appearances. It's been a down year for the 30-year-old blueliner, who has been more of a depth defenseman in fantasy rather than a solid No. 2 or 3.

Toews logged an assist and three shots on goal in Thursday's 4-1 loss to Utah. Toews has five helpers over six games in December. He continues to offer steady but not explosive offense in a top-pairing role, and he also maintains a spot on the second power-play unit. Toews is up to 12 points, 39 shots on net, 34 blocked shots and a minus-3 rating over 27 outings this season. He's been better -- the blueliner has reached the 50-point mark in each of the last three years, but he'll have to pick up the pace to do so in 2024-25.

Toews had two assists in a 6-2 win over the Penguins on Tuesday. The offensive defender has put up 157 points in 228 games over the last three seasons. However, this year has been a slog for Toews, who has just 11 points in 26 games. It's not uncommon for players with big new contracts to struggle with the weight of performance in the first year of a new deal. But Toews has four assists in his last five games, so he may be turning a corner.
