  • Byfield scored a goal on three shots and added two hits in Thursday's 4-2 loss to the Canucks. Byfield opened the scoring just 1:43 into the game. He's starting to pick up the pace -- his two goals this season have come over the last two contests, and he has five points across his last seven outings. The 22-year-old forward is up to eight points, 33 shots on net, 12 hits and an even plus-minus rating through 15 appearances. He's not performing at the level that led to a 20-goal, 55-point regular season in 2023-24, but he's also shooting just 6.1 percent, so there's plenty of room for improvement over time.

  • Byfield notched a goal and an assist, as well as five shots, a hit and a plus-two rating, in Tuesday's 5-1 win over the Wild. This was Byfield's best performance of the season by a wide margin, as he made his presence felt late in the third period by scoring his first goal of the campaign. The 22-year-old has seven points this season, and while this outing will probably act as a confidence-booster for him, he's not producing enough to warrant fantasy consideration as a waiver addition in most formats.

  • Byfield notched an assist in Wednesday's 6-3 win over the Golden Knights. Byfield was back on the third line Wednesday, trading places with Alex Turcotte, who moved up alongside Anze Kopitar and Adrian Kempe on the top line. Over the last three games, Byfield has two assists, and he's at five helpers without a goal through 11 outings overall. The 22-year-old has added 20 shots on net, eight hits, four PIM and a minus-1 rating in a lukewarm start to 2024-25.

  • Byfield logged an assist in Saturday's 3-2 win over Utah. Byfield helped out on the first of Joel Edmundson's two goals in the game. The helper snapped a three-game dry spell for Byfield, whose offense has not shown up much in a top-line role in recent outings. The 22-year-old forward has been limited to four assists, six hits, 20 shots on net and a minus-3 rating over nine contests this season. He produced 55 points in 80 regular-season games last year, but his slow start could make it difficult for him to match that production.

  • Byfield had an assist, three shots on goal, one block and one hit in Thursday's 4-1 win over Montreal. Byfield worked hard behind the net to dislodge the puck and set up Andreas Englund, who gave the Kings a 3-1 lead late. Byfield, who opened the season on the season, was moved to the top line, where he spent most of last season. He has three assists through five appearances this season.
