Pinto (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, per the NHL media site. Ottawa recalled Hayden Hodgson from AHL Belleville in a corresponding move. Pinto sustained the injury in Thursday's 4-2 loss to the Rangers. He has 12 goals, 18 points, 65 shots on net, 18 blocked shots and 34 hits across 27 appearances this season. According to Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia, Pinto will miss at least two weeks, but the 25-year-old forward could be out longer than that.

He's at 10 goals, six helpers, 52 shots on net, 18 hits, 15 blocked shots, 12 PIM and a plus-1 rating through 20 appearances, putting him well on his way to a career year.

Pinto scored a goal in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Bruins. Pinto snapped an eight-game goal drought with a tip-in at the 1:06 mark of the third period. The 25-year-old, who signed a four-year, $30 million contract extension with the Senators on Thursday, also snapped a two-game pointless streak -- just the second time he's gone back-to-back games without a point -- with this goal. He's having an excellent season so far with 15 points in his first 18 appearances.
