Sorokin made 32 saves in a 2-0 win over the Lightning on Saturday. Sorokin was especially sharp in the second period when he denied Anthony Cirelli twice during a Tampa Bay power play. Sorokin also stymied Brandon Hagel right after the man-advantage situation expired. It was Sorokin's third shutout of the season and 25th in the NHL. He's put up three straight wins, including two this week over the Bolts.

Sorokin will guard the road crease in Tampa Bay on Saturday, Stefen Rosner of NHL.com reports. Sorokin will make his fourth consecutive start and has won his last two games, giving up four goals on 69 shots in impressive wins over Colorado and Tampa Bay. Overall, the netminder is 9-8-2 with a 2.60 GAA and a .906 save percentage across 19 appearances this season. The Lightning scored only once on 31 shots Tuesday in their loss to Sorokin and the Islanders.

Sorokin stopped 35 shots on 38 attempts on net in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Avalanche. Sorokin tended a clean first 28 minutes before he allowed back-to-back goals midway through the second period. Outside of one more goal inside the first two minutes of the third period, he cruised to his second consecutive win. With the victory, the 30-year-old netminder is up to a 9-8-2 record with a .906 save percentage and a 2.60 GAA through 19 appearances this year. His 35 saves Thursday were one stop shy of his season-high, proving he can help guide the Islanders to a run-and-gun win. After a sluggish start to the season, Sorokin has been on fire in his last nine starts with five wins, a 1.81 GAA and a .932 save percentage. He should be rostered in nearly all two-goalie fantasy formats moving forward with the Isles just two points out of a playoff spot in the Metropolitan Division. His next chance to take the ice is Saturday against Tampa Bay, who would welcome the chance to see Sorokin again after he tended a 30-save statement win over the Lightning on Tuesday.

Sorokin was the first goalie off during Thursday's morning skate, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports, indicating that he'll draw the home start against the Avalanche. Sorokin was in the starter's crease during morning skate, so it isn't very particularly surprising to see him draw the start against Colorado. He put an end to a three-game losing streak Tuesday against the Lightning, turning aside 30 of 31 shots (.968 save percentage) in a 2-1 victory. He started on the road against Colorado on Nov. 16, and he allowed three goals on 27 shots (.889 save percentage) en route to a 4-1 loss.

Sorokin made 27 saves in a 2-1 win over the Lightning on Tuesday. Sorokin carried a shutout to the 16:26 mark of the third period when Dominic James curled out from below the goal line and banked a wrist shot off his glove. Sorokin was spectacular at times, including a filthy left pad save on an Anthony Cirelli backhand in the second period after the Bolts pivot got behind the Isles D. The 30-year-old Sorokin ended Tampa's seven-game winning streak and snapped his own three-game losing streak in the process.
