Levi will be sent down to AHL Rochester after head coach Lindy Ruff told reporters Monday, "He needs to play, simple as that." Levi became the odd man out after the team reacquired James Reimer off the waiver wire. The 22-year-old Levi has made seven appearances for the Sabres this season but is just 2-5-0 with a 3.95 GAA in those outings. With Levi headed back to the Americans, it will be Reimer who serves as the No. 2 option behind Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen (undisclosed).

Levi stopped 27 of 31 shots in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Flyers. Philadelphia's fifth goal was an empty-netter. Levi made his second straight start with Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen (undisclosed) sidelined once again, and the results weren't pretty. Levi has posted a sub-.890 save percentage in each of his last five outings, going 1-4-0 with a 4.60 GAA and .846 save percentage in that stretch. Unfortunately for the Sabres, Levi will remain between the pipes until Luukkonen is ready to return, unless the coaching staff decides to give James Reimer an opportunity amid Levi's struggles.

Levi stopped 24 of 27 shots in Thursday's 4-3 overtime win over the Blues. Levi made his sixth appearance of the season Thursday and picked up his second win in the process. The 22-year-old had lost three consecutive contests before Rasmus Dahlin buried the winning goal in overtime. Levi will be hard to trust due to his lack of consistent playing time -- his last start before Thursday was Nov. 1. The Quebec native is sporting a 2-4-0 record, .870 save percentage and 3.87 GAA.

Levi will be between the pipes for Thursday's home game against St. Louis, Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News reports. Levi operated in the starter's crease during Thursday's practice session, and he'll officially draw the start since Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen (undisclosed) will be sidelined. Over five appearances this season, Levi has posted a 1-4-0 record, 4.10 GAA and .866 save percentage.

Levi allowed four goals on 36 shots in Friday's 4-3 loss to the Islanders. Levi performed admirably in Friday's loss but didn't receive much help from his teammates in the defensive zone. The 22-year-old's previous outing was a 6-4 loss to Columbus on Oct. 17, so he shouldn't be on the radar of most fantasy managers due to his inconsistent playing time. Levi and Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen have struggled early on as Buffalo is off to a sluggish 4-6-1 start. Levi is sporting a 1-3-0 record, an .878 save percentage and a 3.91 GAA through four appearances.
