  Woll (back) signed a three-year, $10.98 million contract with Toronto on Monday. Woll posted a 12-11-1 record with a 2.93 GAA and a .907 save percentage in 25 regular-season games with the Maple Leafs in 2023-24. He also went 2-0 with a 0.86 GAA and a .964 save percentage in the playoffs before missing Game 7 against Boston due to a back injury. Woll should be ready for the start of the 2024-25 campaign. He could split starts with whoever Toronto adds during the offseason but might see most of the game action if he can stay healthy.

  Woll sustained a back injury in Game 6 of the first round against the Bruins that resulted in him missing Game 7 on Saturday, ESPN's Kristen Shilton reports. Woll was riding a two-game winning streak when he suffered his back injury. There's been no indication that the 25-year-old backstop won't be ready for the start of training camp in the fall, which could see him challenging for the No. 1 role heading into 2024-25.

The 25-year-old nearly had his first postseason shutout Thursday, but a Morgan Geekie goal in the final second spoiled it. Woll is almost certain to start Saturday's Game 7 in Boston after pulling the Maple Leafs back from the brink following Ilya Samsonov's poor start to the series.

Woll has been sensational versus the Bruins in the postseason, giving up one goal on 28 shots in a 2-1 overtime win Tuesday in Game 5. He also stopped all five shots he faced in Game 4 after replacing Ilya Samsonov to start the third period. Woll has seen action in just 36 regular-season games in his NHL career, but he looked like a seasoned veteran while prevailing over the Bruins on Tuesday.
