  • Devin Shore C | MIN

Wild's Devin Shore: Scores first of season

Shore scored a goal on one shot, blocked three shots and delivered three hits in Thursday's 4-0 win over the Canadiens.

Shore made it a 3-0 game early in the third period when he picked Alex Newhook's pocket and beat Jakub Dobes to the stick side. It was the first goal of the season for Shore. The fourth-line winger has three points (one goal, two assists) over 30 outings and points in each of the last two games played.

  • Marco Rossi C | VAN

Wild's Marco Rossi: Two-pointer in win

Rossi scored a goal on one shot and logged an assist in Thursday's 4-0 win over Montreal. He also blocked a shot and recorded a hit.

Rossi was left unmarked by Montreal defenders and beat Jakub Dobes with a wrist shot from the left faceoff circle. It was the first tally in seven games and 18th goal of the season for Rossi, who later assisted on Devin Shore's third-period tally. Rossi's 12 points over 12 games helped the Wild overcome a recent 12-game stretch without star forward Kirill Kaprizov (lower-body injury), and Minnesota will need him to do that again. Kaprizov is facing surgery and a four-week absence. Rossi has 46 points through 52 games.

  • Morgan Frost C | CGY

Flyers' Morgan Frost: Exits Thursday's game

Frost (undisclosed) did not feel well enough to finish Thursday's game versus the Islanders, Charlie O'Connor of PHLY Sports reports.

Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reported earlier in the evening that the Flyers were working on a trade with the Flames, leading to speculation that Frost's absence was related. Head coach John Tortorella said Frost was not removed for trade-related reasons, though that does not necessarily rule out Frost being part of the deal since it has been thought the 25-year-old forward could use a change of scenery. If this is truly just an injury or illness issue, Frost should be considered day-to-day ahead of Sunday's game versus the Avalanche.

  • Capitals' Connor McMichael: Lights lamp

McMichael tallied a goal, a power-play assist and fired six shots during Thursday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Senators.

The goal snapped an 11-game goal-scoring drought for McMichael who has compiled a goal and seven points in 12 games during the month of January. The 24-year-old is in the midst of a career-year with 38 points in 51 games.

  • Dylan Strome C | WAS

Capitals' Dylan Strome: Pots two goals

Strome notched two goals, including one on the power-play, a plus-1 rating and four shots during Thursday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Senators.

After going 10 games without lighting the lamp, Strome now has three goals over his last two outings. The 27-year-old has posted 15 goals and 49 points in 51 games during the 2024-25 campaign.

  • Josh Norris C | BUF

Senators' Josh Norris: Tallies two points

Norris supplied a goal, an assist and a plus-2 rating during Thursday's 5-4 overtime win against the Capitals.

Norris' goal came on a penalty shot in the second period and helped the Senators stake a 3-1 lead before the Capitals roared back to tie the game in the third. The 25-year-old has notched four goals and seven points in his last nine games.

  • Golden Knights' Callahan Burke: Playing after call-up

Burke was called up from AHL Henderson on Thursday and will play versus the Blue Jackets, Jesse Granger of The Athletic reports.

Burke has one goal over six NHL appearances this season. The 27-year-old will take the place of Jonas Rondbjerg in the lineup Thursday.

  • Hurricanes' Jack Roslovic: Ready to return

Roslovic (illness) is good to play Thursday versus Chicago, per Ryan Henkel of The Hockey News.

Roslovic has 18 goals and 26 points in 50 appearances in 2024-25. He'll draw back into the lineup after missing Tuesday's 4-0 win over the Rangers. The timing of his return is vital because Carolina is set to dress just 17 skaters -- 11 forwards and six defensemen -- because Sebastian Aho (illness) and Taylor Hall (illness) are both unavailable. Under those circumstances, Roslovic might log significant minutes, especially because he's projected to play alongside Mikko Rantanen and Jackson Blake.

  • Sharks' Alexander Wennberg: Unavailable Thursday

Wennberg will miss Thursday's clash against Seattle because of an upper-body injury, per Max Miller of NHL.com.

Wennberg has eight goals and 23 points in 52 appearances in 2024-25. Carl Grundstrom might draw into the lineup due to Wennberg's absence.

  • Golden Knights' William Karlsson: Not close to returning

Karlsson (lower body) isn't expected to join the Golden Knights on their upcoming four-game road trip, which will begin Sunday against the Rangers, per Jesse Granger of The Athletic on Thursday.

That trip will cover the remainder of Vegas' schedule before the 4 Nations Face-Off, so it seems Karlsson won't return until Feb. 22 versus Vancouver at the earliest. The 32-year-old has seven goals and 18 points in 38 appearances in 2024-25. Even when healthy, Karlsson has performed below his normal pace in terms of his offensive output, but he should still receive a middle-six spot once he returns.
