Yakov Trenin C | MIN
Wild's Yakov Trenin: Slings helper in loss
Trenin provided an assist, four hits and two PIM in Thursday's 6-1 loss to the Avalanche.
Trenin helped out on Zach Bogosian's tally late in the first period. With four points over eight games since he returned from an upper-body injury, Trenin is in one of his best stretches of the season, but that's not saying much for his offense. He has just seven points with 33 shots on net, 18 PIM, a plus-6 rating and 109 hits over 37 outings overall.

Frederick Gaudreau C | SEA
Wild's Frederick Gaudreau: Garners helper in loss
Gaudreau logged an assist in Thursday's 6-1 loss to the Avalanche.
Gaudreau had been limited to three goals and one assist over 18 games since the start of December. The 31-year-old has maintained a steady spot on the third line, but the Wild's offense is often dominated by the top six. Gaudreau now has 17 points through 42 contests, two more than he had in 67 outings a year ago. He's added 61 shots on net, 23 blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating.

Anthony Cirelli C | TB
Lightning's Anthony Cirelli: Scoring slows, but still productive
Cirelli scored a shorthanded goal Thursday in a 4-1 win over the Bruins.
Cirelli has been unable to sustain his early season scoring levels. After putting up 27 points (12 goals, 15 assists) in his first 26 games, Cirelli has four goals and three assists in his last 12 games. He's still on pace for a career high in points, and he's showing his defensive chops, too. A Selke nomination may finally come Cirelli's way.

Ross Colton C | COL
Avalanche's Ross Colton: Gets gift for goal
Colton scored a goal on two shots and added two hits in Thursday's 6-1 win over the Wild.
Colton received a turnover right on his stick and made no mistake on the shot to put the Avalanche up 2-0 in the first period. His tally stood as the game-winner. He's picked up three goals and an assist over his last six games while filling a middle-six role. For the season, Colton is up to 13 goals, two assists, 66 shots on net, 60 hits and a minus-1 rating through 26 outings.

Nathan MacKinnon C | COL
Avalanche's Nathan MacKinnon: Pair of points in Thursday's win
MacKinnon scored a goal on five shots, dished an assist and went plus-2 in Thursday's 6-1 win over the Wild.
MacKinnon set up Mikko Rantanen's tally in the second period and then added a goal of his own in the third. This ended MacKinnon's seven-game goal drought, a span in which he still provided 11 assists. The 29-year-old superstar is up to 15 goals, 68 points, 163 shots on net and a plus-16 rating through 43 appearances this season. He has multiple points in three of seven contests since the holiday break, and that's not even the pinnacle of his abilities.

Brayden Point C | TB
Lightning's Brayden Point: Nets 600th NHL point
Point scored a goal Thursday in a 4-1 win over Boston.
It was his 600th NHL point. Point has 289 goals and 311 assists in 615 games. This season, he has 25 goals and 22 assists in 34 games, and he's on a four-game, four-point streak (two goals, two assists). Point sits in a three-way tie with Mikko Rantanen and William Nylander for second in goals in the NHL with 24. But he's tallied those in just 34 games, compared to Nylander's 43 and Rantanen's 42. The only other player who comes close to that is Kirill Kaprizov (upper body), who has 23 in just 34 contests. Point's dominance is impressive.

Noah Gregor C | FLA
Senators' Noah Gregor: Will miss time
Gregor (lower body) will be out for a while after suffering the injury in Thursday's game against the Sabres, Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia reports.
Gregor sustained the injury during the second period and was unable to finish the contest. The Senators were already thin at forward with both of Michael Amadio (concussion) and David Perron (back) out, so don't be surprised if Gregor lands on injured reserve to free up a roster spot for another forward. Jan Jenik was recently in the NHL and made one appearance in a fourth-line role, so he could be a leading candidate for a recall.

Noah Gregor C | FLA
Senators' Noah Gregor: Suffers lower-body injury
Gregor won't return to Thursday's game against Buffalo after suffering a lower-body injury.
Gregor, who went into the tilt against the Sabres with four goals and six points through 34 appearances in 2024-25, logged 5:48 of ice time before exiting the game. The Senators had just 12 healthy forwards going into Thursday's action with Michael Amadio (concussion) and David Perron (back) both on injured reserve. If Amadio, Perron and Gregor are all unavailable for Saturday's tilt versus Pittsburgh, then Ottawa will presumably recall someone from the minors.

Cole Sillinger C | CLB
Blue Jackets' Cole Sillinger: Not playing versus Kraken
Sillinger (illness) will not play versus the Kraken on Thursday, Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers reports.
Sillinger was considered a game-time decision but ultimately won't be able to suit up. He's projected to be replaced in the lineup by his older brother Owen Sillinger, who is set to make his NHL debut. The younger Sillinger's next chance to play is Saturday in St. Louis.

Evgeni Malkin C | PIT
Penguins' Evgeni Malkin: Unavailable Thursday
Malkin (upper body) is not in the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Oilers, Wes Crosby of NHL.com reports.
Malkin is set to miss a second straight game with the injury. His absence means Cody Glass will stay in a second-line role and Anthony Beauvillier will remain in the lineup. Malkin's next chance to play is Saturday versus the Senators, which is the first half of a back-to-back set.
