Vinnie Hinostroza C | FLA
Predators' Vinnie Hinostroza: Notches assist in loss
Hinostroza picked up an assist and two PIM in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Jets.
The helper was Hinostroza's first point in five NHL appearances this season. He's added four shots on net, six hits, five blocked shots and a plus-2 rating while logging middle-six minutes at even strength. The 30-year-old has occasionally displayed a scoring touch, earning a career-high 39 points in 2018-19 and 25 points over 62 appearances in 2021-22, but his opportunity with the Predators may only last as long as they have numerous injury concerns at forward.

Gustav Nyquist RW | WPG
Predators' Gustav Nyquist: Hands out assist in loss
Nyquist notched an assist in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Jets.
Nyquist has picked up four points over his last four games, going plus-1 rating with 11 shots on net in that span. It's not enough to say he's back to being a top-six-level producer, but he's doing much better than he did for much of the first half of the campaign. He's at seven goals, 10 assists, 52 shots on net and a minus-15 rating over 40 appearances. If Nashville's offense remains unreliable, Nyquist is not the kind of player who can buck that trend.

Jonathan Marchessault C | NSH
Predators' Jonathan Marchessault: Posts power-play assist in loss
Marchessault notched a power-play assist, five shots on goal, two blocked shots and a minus-2 rating in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Jets.
Marchessault has a goal and three assists during his four-game point streak and nine goals and eight helpers over his last 13 contests. The winger helped out on Filip Forsberg's second-period tally Tuesday. Marchessault is now at 30 points (12 on the power play), 121 shots on net, 56 hits and a minus-9 rating over 41 appearances, putting him on pace to reach the 60-point mark for the third time in the last four years.

Connor Zary C | CGY
Flames' Connor Zary: Hurt in Tuesday's game
Zary (lower body) won't return to Tuesday's game versus the Ducks, Eric Francis of Sportsnet reports.
Zary got the worst of a knee-on-knee hit from Drew Helleson in the second period and was in substantial pain as he left the ice. The 23-year-old Zary could be looking at a significant absence given the nature of the collision -- it's doubtful he'll play Wednesday in Los Angeles at a minimum. Assuming he misses time, Yegor Sharangovich will probably slide over to center while Walker Duehr would likely enter the lineup.

Adam Lowry C | WPG
Jets' Adam Lowry: Dishes pair of assists
Lowry logged two assists, two hits, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Predators.
Lowry earned his first multi-point effort since Nov. 5 against Utah. The 31-year-old center has a decent nine points over 18 games since the start of December while continuing to play heavy defensive minutes in a middle-six role. Lowry is up to 10 goals, 14 helpers, 59 shots on net, 78 hits, 36 blocked shots and a plus-15 rating over 42 appearances. He remains on track to reach the 40-point mark for the first time in his career.

Mark Scheifele C | WPG
Jets' Mark Scheifele: Collects pair of helpers
Scheifele notched two assists and three shots on goal in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Predators.
This was Scheifele's first multi-point effort in five contests. One of the helpers came on the power play, his first contribution with the man advantage since Dec. 17. The center continues to play at a high level with 48 points (15 on the power play), 95 shots on net, 35 hits, 35 blocked shots, 23 PIM and a plus-4 rating over 42 games this season. Scheifele remains on pace to exceed the 90-point mark for the first time in his career.

Morgan Barron C | WPG
Jets' Morgan Barron: Credited with goal
Barron scored a goal and fired four shots on net in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Predators.
Barron was credited with the Jets' first goal after a Nashville skater put it in his own net during a scramble at the net front. The goal was Barron's first since Dec. 21 against the Wild. The 26-year-old forward has four points over his last eight outings but is unlikely to emerge as a steady scorer while filling a fourth-line role. For the season, he has four goals, seven points, 50 shots, 69 hits, 28 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating through 42 appearances.

Gabriel Vilardi C | WPG
Jets' Gabriel Vilardi: Nets power-play marker
Vilardi scored a power-play goal on two shots in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Predators.
Vilardi had gone two games without a goal entering Tuesday, something that's happened just three times since the start of December. His goal gave the Jets a bit more breathing room in the third period. Vilardi is up to 19 tallies this season, with a career-high 10 of them coming on the power play. He's added 18 assists, 84 shots on net, 24 blocked shots and a plus-1 rating through 42 appearances. He's four points away from matching his career high from the 2022-23 campaign (41).

Connor McDavid C | EDM
Oilers' Connor McDavid: First goal in eight games
McDavid scored a power-play goal in Tuesday's 4-0 win over Boston.
McDavid was sent in on a breakaway and made a couple of quick moves before snapping it on his forehand past Jeremy Swayman. It was his first goal in eight games and his first point in three. McDavid currently sits sixth in league scoring with 55 points (16 goals, 39 assists) in 37 games. His 1.49 P/GP is third in the NHL behind Nathan MacKinnon (1.61) and Nikita Kucherov (1.56).

Steven Stamkos C | NSH
Predators' Steven Stamkos: Dealing with injury
Stamkos (undisclosed) didn't finish Tuesday's game versus the Jets, and there was no update on his status following the contest, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports.
Stamkos was hurt in the second period and didn't play in the third. He was also held off the scoresheet, ending a three-game point streak. More information on Stamkos' status should be available prior to Saturday's game at home against the Capitals. Since Luke Evangelista (lower body) also got hurt Tuesday, the Predators may need to make some moves later in the week to replenish their forward group, though Zachary L'Heureux will be back from a suspension Saturday.
