  • Gustav Nyquist RW | WPG

Predators' Gustav Nyquist: No goals in December

Nyquist logged an assist and six shots on net in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Wild.

Nyquist's goal drought is up to 18 games, 12 of which have been in December. He had four assists this month, but he also took just 16 shots on net -- a good chunk of them coming in Tuesday's loss. The 35-year-old winger has always been more of a playmaker, but this is a brutal slump. Nyquist is at 14 points, 47 shots on net and a minus-15 rating through 37 appearances. Despite his quiet offense, he remains in a second-line role and on the second power-play unit.

  • Predators' Colton Sissons: Deflects in goal

Sissons scored a goal on two shots and added two hits in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Wild.

Sissons scored for the first time since Nov. 11 versus the Avalanche. His offense was ice-cold for most of the 21 games in between goals, but he's added two assists over his last four outings. The 31-year-old forward has five points, 36 shots on net, 47 hits, 39 blocked shots and a minus-16 rating over 37 appearances. Sissons plays a defensive game by nature, but he can put together a better second half of the campaign on offense if he gets a little puck luck.

  • Predators' Ryan O'Reilly: Pots goal in loss

O'Reilly scored a goal on five shots and added two PIM in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Wild.

O'Reilly has played well since returning from a lower-body injury. He has four goals and four assists over his last eight outings, with all of that action coming in a second-line role and on the first power-play unit. Typically, moving down the lineup doesn't help players, but it's worked for O'Reilly after a sluggish start to the season on the top line. The 33-year-old center is at nine goals, 22 points, 62 shots on net, 32 blocked shots and a minus-16 rating over 35 appearances.

  • Ryan Donato C | CHI

Blackhawks' Ryan Donato: Picks up power-play helper

Donato logged a power-play assist, five shots on goal and six hits in Tuesday's 6-2 loss to the Blues in the Winter Classic.

Donato had a fine December for a depth forward. He logged seven points, including three power-play assists, while adding 33 shots on net, 32 hits, 18 PIM and a minus-6 rating. The 28-year-old forward has bounced all around Chicago's lineup this year, but he's been steady as a complementary scorer -- he hasn't had a drought longer than four games. Donato has 11 goals, 10 assists, five power-play points, 86 shots on net, 70 hits and a minus-4 rating through 36 appearances.

  • J.T. Miller C | NYR

Canucks' J.T. Miller: Logs power-play helper

Miller notched a power-play assist, five shots on goal, three hits, two blocked shots and seven PIM in Tuesday's 3-1 loss to the Flames.

Miller has racked up five assists, including three on the power play, over the last four games. The 31-year-old center also has 11 shots on net over his last three outings, but his goal drought is up to 10 contests. For the season, Miller has six goals, 18 helpers, nine power-play points, 50 shots on net, 59 hits, 20 PIM and a minus-2 rating over 26 appearances in his usual top-line role.

  • Flames' Martin Pospisil: Contributes helper in 100th game

Pospisil notched an assist and five hits in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Canucks.

This was Pospisil's 100th NHL game. The forward has produced 36 points and 353 hits so far in his career, though he's frequently seen top-six minutes at even strength. Pospisil was limited to two helpers, 54 hits and 18 PIM over 12 outings in December, as he was unable to enjoy the scoring consistency of linemates Jonathan Huberdeau and Nazem Kadri. Pospisil is up to 12 points, 49 shots on net, 51 PIM, 115 hits and a plus-3 rating over 37 contests this season.

  • Flames' Yegor Sharangovich: Picks up assist Tuesday

Sharangovich notched an assist and two shots on goal in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Canucks.

Sharangovich has two helpers over his last four games, but he logged just three points in December. He hasn't been able to get involved much on offense while filling a third-line role, though he remains a factor on the power play despite not earning a point in that role since Dec. 27. The 26-year-old two-way forward has six goals, four assists, 66 shots on net and a minus-10 rating through 30 appearances this season, way off the pace that saw him earn a career-best 59 points last year.

  • Connor Zary C | CGY

Flames' Connor Zary: Scores in 100th career game

Zary scored a goal on three shots in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Canucks.

Zary tallied the opening goal at 14:31 of the first period. This was the forward's 100th career game, and he's earned a total of 55 points so far. The 23-year-old was good in December with four goals and five assists over 12 appearances, giving him nine goals, 21 points, 76 shots on net and a minus-6 rating over 37 outings this season. Zary's still listed on the third line, but he's been productive in that spot on a low-scoring team.

  • Nazem Kadri C | COL

Flames' Nazem Kadri: Scores game-winner Tuesday

Kadri scored a goal on five shots, doled out three hits and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Canucks.

Kadri put the Flames ahead for good at 9:14 of the third period. The 34-year-old played well in December with six goals, five assists and 47 shots on net over 12 appearances, and he's looked good in a top-line partnership with Jonathan Huberdeau. Kadri is up to 14 goals (two game-winners), 26 points, 127 shots on net, 28 hits, 30 PIM and a minus-12 rating over 37 appearances this season. He'll continue to return solid fantasy value while in a prominent role in the Flames' offense.

  • Flames' Jonathan Huberdeau: Empty-netter, assist in win

Huberdeau scored an empty-net goal, dished an assist, added two hits and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Canucks.

Huberdeau capped off his most productive month as a Flame with his fifth multi-point effort in 12 games in December. He racked up eight goals and seven assists in that span while seeing consistent top-line usage. The winger is up to 16 tallies -- his most in three years -- as well as 13 assists, 65 shots on net, 30 blocked shots, 26 hits and a minus-7 rating through 37 appearances. He's on pace to top the 60-point mark for the first time since his 115-point effort in 2021-22.
