Luke Kunin C | FLA
Sharks' Luke Kunin: Three points in last two games
Kunin scored a goal Saturday in a 3-2 overtime loss to Edmonton.
Kunin has three points (one goal, two assists) and three shots across his last two games. The third-line winger is known more for his grit (92 hits) than his offense (15 points in 36 games). However, it's worth noting that Kunin had just 18 points in 77 games last season, and his career high is 31 (63 games). He could break that mark by a few points at his current pace. Kunin is a deep-league option in formats that reward abrasion.

Zach Hyman C | EDM
Oilers' Zach Hyman: NHL's best sniper in December
Hyman notched a goal Saturday in a 3-2 overtime win over the Sharks.
It was Hyman's sixth goal on his current five-game goal streak and ninth in eight games (30 shots) in December. Those nine markers lead the NHL for the month. Hyman can't possibly keep this pace up, but he's far better than the three goals in 19 outings he put up to start the season. Maybe a 35-goal season is possible after all.

Nicolas Roy C | COL
Golden Knights' Nicolas Roy: Won't return Saturday
Roy (upper body) is expected to miss Saturday's tilt against the Kraken, according to Jesse Granger of The Athletic.
It will be Roy's second straight game on the shelf. He has six goals and 13 points in 31 outings in 2024-25. Roy will likely draw back into the lineup in a bottom-six capacity once he's healthy.

Leon Draisaitl C | EDM
Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Sets NHL mark with OT goal
Draisaitl scored the game-winning goal Saturday in a 3-2 overtime win over the Sharks.
Draisaitl has seven goals and 12 assists during his eight-game point spree, but his multi-point streak ended at seven contests. His 17 overtime goals are the most in franchise history. Draisaitl's four OT goals this season are tops in the NHL, and his six OT goals in 2024 are the most in a calendar year in NHL history. He leads the NHL with 24 goals and sits second overall in points with 51 through 31 games this season.

Connor McDavid C | EDM
Oilers' Connor McDavid: Eight-game, 17-point scoring streak
McDavid delivered three assists in a 3-2 overtime win over the Sharks on Saturday.
McDavid has three goals and 14 assists during his eight-game point streak. The 27-year-old McDavid moved ahead of Alex Kovalev and Brian Leetch into 88th on the NHL's all-time points list (1,030). By season's end, McDavid could enter into the top 70, barring an injury. He sits sixth in the NHL with 48 points through 30 games and is even with Jack Eichel for fourth in assists (33).

Quinton Byfield C | LA
Kings' Quinton Byfield: Three goals in last four games
Byfield scored a goal in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Predators on Saturday.
Byfield has had a quiet season, but things may be turning around. He has three goals, four points and 11 shots over his last four appearances. Byfield is an offensive talent, and this run could be a precursor to the next step in his game. Watch carefully -- his value will take a big leap if he can produce at a pace similar to his 55-point 2023-24 campaign.

Jonathan Marchessault C | NSH
Predators' Jonathan Marchessault: Six-game, eight-point streak
Marchessault scored a goal Saturday in a 3-2 overtime win over Los Angeles.
Marchessault has scored in three consecutive games (three goals) and has eight points (five goals, three assists) during a six-game point streak. The streak has bumped his season totals to 10 goals and 11 assists in 34 games. Marchessault was among many veteran players the Preds brought to Nashville in the offseason, and it has taken time for them to find their games. The team is still struggling to win, but Marchessault's streak could be a signal that things are about to improve. Sooner or later, the team's scorers will score, and he's showing the way right now.

Sean Couturier C | PHI
Flyers' Sean Couturier: Won't play Saturday
Couturier will miss Saturday's game against Columbus for personal reasons.
Couturier has six goals and 17 points in 32 outings in 2024-25. Olle Lycksell will be in the lineup for his NHL season debut after being brought up from AHL Lehigh Valley on Saturday.
-
David Gustafsson C | WPG
Jets' David Gustafsson: Off injured reserve
Gustafsson (concussion) was taken off injured reserve Saturday, per the NHL media site.
Gustafsson has missed Winnipeg's past four games. Although he's now an option to draw into the lineup, Gustafsson will probably spend most games in the press box. He has no points, five PIM, four shots and four hits in three appearances with the Jets while averaging 7:55 of ice time this campaign.

Ben Meyers C | SEA
Kraken's Ben Meyers: Brought up from AHL
Meyers was summoned from AHL Coachella Valley on Saturday.
Meyers has produced nine goals and 19 points in 22 AHL outings this season. He hasn't earned a point in three NHL appearances this campaign while posting two shots on goal and three hits. Meyers will be available for Saturday's game against Vegas but could serve as a healthy scratch.
